For those who’ve seen the BTS shots for 309 I’m really happy that Emma and Neal are working together against PP to save Henry. Take the ship out of it, and they are still his parents. I have to give credit to Neal. He really stepped up when he found out he had a kid. (also the shot of single shot of MRJ with that smile. *stares*)

I am THRILLED to see those pics of Emma & Neal fighting side by side for their son. I totally agree with you. All shipping aside they’re his parents and them being united against Pan is how it should be. BTW-I had to fight SO HARD not to gush over that pic of MRJ flashing his amazing smile in the other thread that I nearly threw my keyboard across the room. Thank goodness I can gush in here where it’s safe and saves me a keyboard, LOL 😉 *drool* 😀

Having just seen the photos for 3×9, I’m thrilled with the amount of SF family. And with Neal saving Rumple and Rumple helping save Henry, I’m hoping that goes a long way to mending broken relationships between Neal and Rumple, as well as Neal and Emma.

A general “YES!” to everything you all have said the last few pages! The moon may shine very bright when it is night, but when the day returns, you can’t see anything but the sun.  That is how I feel it is for Emma right now.  She’s going “dark” they said, with her experimenting in magic, her loss of hope and all of this is making Hook come off to her as surprisingly impressive (to her).  Yet that bright light is going to pale in comparison when she realizes what a strong, generous heart that Neal has always had and still has, because it reflects in how people respond to him.  He doesn’t have a trail of enemies or people with vendettas (we can imagine) because basically he tries to be good to people even when he doesn’t have to be.  Emma has a lot of people in her life to love, and she may not value Neal’s ability to share her with all of those people so much right now as this is a new thing for her.  She’s only ever thought of herself as alone, and it is overwhelming but it is part of her now and Neal would sort of understand and encourage her to be able to accept rather than run from all these other people and connections.   The writers can write things however they choose of course, as it is a story, but that is the one I hope they tell.

A lot of people faulted Neal for ‘flirting’ with Tamara, but that wasn’t what I saw when they met.  I saw a guy who thought he’d just ruined a woman’s day, and to make up for it tried to help her out.  He didn’t have to care, but he did and it wasn’t because he saw her and thought she was pretty.  I don’t think he got out of bed to save Whale because he thought he was hot (although Whale is…) but because he wasn’t going to let his dad bully someone.  It wasn’t just to yell at Rumple because he has “daddy issues”–he did it because as with the maid and snail guy, Neal values other people even if they are not family.  That is something that is new for Emma as she’s always had to look out mainly for herself.   The growth she had, going from a loner to “hero of the town”–it sits uncomfortably on her shoulders but it is part of her.  Neal’s not going to lead her away from it.  He isn’t going to force her either, but he’s just going to stand and say he has her back.  If she does become corrupted, if magic does start to eat at her, then I don’t think he’ll abandon her.  Even if she makes it hard to save her–and I don’t want them to make her weak and passive either just so he can show he’s strong, but whatever they do with Emma, I think they can right his character consistently as supporting her.  He’s been through a lot without ever being driven to obsession and anger against those who harmed him, at least not for ever.

This is my first post, and I am delurking, yup!, so I hope I don’t screw up.

First I want to thank alllll the posters in this thread : for some obscure reason (not so obscure, more on that later) I ship Swanfire (sorry I don’t like FireThieves)  and thank you guys, because aye, here is a safe haven =)

I used to appreciate Hook when he was first introduced but let’s be honnest : I read so much idiocy from CS shippers that it ruined the character for me. And I’m not gonna even start on everything I heard about nasty tweets to MRJ.

Ah MRJ!… I love the guy, seriously, he is cute in his own special way and I just adore the way he portraits Neal. I have a huge crush on MRJ, just like on Robert : I can’t explain it, I just adore them.

Anyway, I wanted to post last night after I saw a link, which I followed as the good lurker that I am, about how SwanFire are TL, based on Aristophanes’ speech at The Symposium. Sorry I’m a bit lazy to go back to the link. First it happened that “tale” is one of my favorite ever. Then I’m not gonna lie, Emma and Neal’s story reminds me so much of my own that… yeah of course I can’t help ship them, especially when MRJ does such a great job.

I really do believe Emma and Neal are end game. Maybe I’m wrong because afterall my name is not Adam, but I truelly believe it. Real love is also about pain and fights. Because that’s after fighting, that’s because of the pain that one day you decide to stand up, that’s because sadly real love is not only about walking by with a huge, and a bit dumb, smile on your face, because real love is also about pain, about hurt that will eventually come because HEY… HUMANS, we make mistakes. And real love is about going past the hurt, the flaws, every mistakes. Because real love is also about finding each other, forgiving each other and simply keeping on loving each other, no matter what.

I honnestly believe Emma and Neal are two faces of the same coin, as Plato said it. And yes, they do remind me of my own Adam and I.

Anyway, I want to thank you guys for this thread that I love. Especially since a lot of CS fans really got to me sometimes. Don’t get me wrong : there is ALWAYS exceptions to one rule and I don’t want to bi… about them but the “parallels (sp?) from doom” just tire me sometimes. And I won’t even go to the MRJ threaths, that’s just… crazy. Sadly most of CSers seem to me like little teenage hysterical girls. I heard they created a petition? SERIOUSLY?! It’s sad because all this drama first made me dislike a character, and then… seriously it’s ruining the conversations. Once again, I know not all CSers are the same but really most are dramas seekers and … well I enjoy reading this Swanfire thread, it’s a little sunshine in the Once community and thank you guys =)

Now, as far as analysis go, I can’t believe a show about true love would pair Emma with some guy that basically tell her off when she says “we need to talk”. Just for these lines, I can’t believe Emma will spend her life with Hook, when she has a super Neal coming back, on badass mode to get his son and family back.

Anyway, that’s it, I hope I wasn’t being offensive when talking about CSers, they just get me down sometimes, they are loud and annoying, most of them, a bit like a kid on a tantrum, actually.

I LOVE YOU! And RG (yes, that’s how much I “stalked”, you’re RG), you’re an awesome mod, you did a good job with the CaptainSwanFire thread. It’s a bit odd, it’s just I have read you guys so much, I feel like I know you guys a bit.

Welcome annwyn. At the moment I’m kind of shipping SwanFire. I tend to hover between SwanFire and CaptainSwan depending on what I see in an episode. Dark Hollow put me off of CaptainSwan and onto team Neal and I’ve yet to see anything from Hook since that makes me consider changing my mind.

All the character growth Hook had built up between 301 and 306, he kind of ruined in 307.

I do think CaptainSwan will happen, that it’ll run its course, then Emma and Neal can work on getting back together. Since we’re halfway through season 3, I doubt they’d introduce any more potential suitors for Emma so Hook and Neal are Emma’s two options.

Could someone list the parallels of Neal’s actions vs Hook’s actions and the differences between them please. For example:

Emma was locked up because of Neal so she could find her family

Emma was locked up by Hook which would’ve kept her away from her family.

and

Neal secured a way to save Charming’s life without expecting anything in return because it was the right thing to do

Hook saved Charmin’s life and expected a kiss from Emma as gratitude.
