Emma + Baelfire = Swanfire

Okay, I debated posting yet another observation I had about Hook and Emma’s interaction in 4×13 “Unforgiven.” I know a lot of people have their doubts, as do I, but what the hey? Here it goes.

Okay, the analysis is based on something Hook said, a promise of sorts, that he made to Emma. Hook said, “I don’t intend to let you down.”

Does anyone else see the eerily similar pledge that Neal made to Henry (who was really Pan) on the return voyage from Neverland?

Neal said, “Henry, I know we haven’t had much of a chance to be a family, not yet. I want you to know that you have a dad now, now and for forever. I’ll never leave you. Okay, Buddy?”

Well, what ended up happening? Despite Neal’s best intentions, he was unable to be there for his son, first because of Pan’s curse, and then because Neal died in his attempt to get back to Henry. He never even saw his son again after 3×11.

This could be a type of foreshadowing of saying one thing, and then the opposite happens. It could also be an example of a TV Trope known as Tempting Fate.

Another example I can think of is when Hook told Emma’s he’s a survivor in S4a.
“Well, love, you don’t have to sorry about me. If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s surviving.” Well, we could take this at face value. Up until now, Hook has been very good at surviving. And he doesn’t intend to let Emma down. But the question remains, will he end up doing just that, despite his best intentions?

Slurpeez, you keep a little flicker of hope alive in me.  It’s very little.

It’s like I have the angel and devil on my shoulders and they’re whispering in my ear.  One sounds like DSB and Slurpeez listing observations and hope  and saying “Don’t give up” and the other one is RG saying “Nah, they’re all going to die.”  I admit I lean toward them all dying in an inferno.  😆

As many of you know I’m an ardent Harry Potter fan.  J. K. Rowling was a master at telling a story with mystery and foreshadowing and misleading without lying.  Everything ties together even though there are 7 books she wrote over 10 years.  The stories are tight.  So I, and a lot of other fan geeks come to expect this from others.  When you have a show like Once that relies on flashbacks, magic and prophesy then you have to have parameters to your world, you have to remember your story, and then stay faithful to your characters.  Once does none of this so I have trouble taking the clues that are given to Hook’s downfall and thinking they will come to fruition.  I want to, I really do.  And a small part of me really hopes.  So keep posting your theories, Slurpeez.  I do love hearing them.

….and then I love hearing RG proclaim “Kill it with fire.”   😆

Once does none of this so I have trouble taking the clues that are given to Hook’s downfall and thinking they will come to fruition

Even if they did come to fruition, it wouldn’t last. A and E are enamored of CS just like ABC. They will never have to suffer like SF, Rumbelle, Snowing, or even OQ did.

Hope for *what* exactly? Are you hoping Neal comes back at the very end and he and Emma ride off into the sunset? I would die of laughter but it would be utterly sloppy and poor writing (so right up ONCE’s ally) given that Neal is actually dead and MRJ is actually on another pilot now.

Are you hoping that Hook and Emma decide not to be together anymore? That doesn’t fit with the overarching theme A and E believe in which is that ERRBODY GOTTA HAVE LOVE!!!!! It might be Belle and Will in the end now, but both people will have happy endings (or they could reconcile with Rumple/Ana). Snowing will live HEA. OQ has already been given this with Marian really being Zelena thus removing that obstacle. That only leaves Emma and Hook. Sorry but hope on that front is honestly very slim. Like…negligible. Non existent even.

Have to ask to the hope people, you have hope of what? Cs break up or you have hope of SF and Neal in the end?

I love you all , i really do, but this wont happen, MRJ is done with the show, even if he didnt had a new pilot, i almost bet he would not go back again, in fact i say he probably will never work with that network again.

Also, lets say ouat has a S5 that is last one with 22 epis, lets assume that GoS is a hit and has also 22 epis, how would that work? one is in Vancouver, the other in Atlanta, one is in ABC the other is on NBC, this scenario makes it impossible, especially bc even adam said last year that mulan actress was not available bc she was in another network(NBC), so they didnt released her.

The thing is if  some of you have  hope for Cs to break up, they may do it to cause drama during some epis, but they will end together, in fact i bet the actors know it or Jmo wouldnt had hint that Emma is hook happy ending and hook is emma happy ending on one of the asks

I really admire you all of those who have hope, but you need to be realistic that Neal death was not storyplot, they simply didnt wanted Neal/bae anymore, they simply dont care about Sf fans, Neal/Bae fans, they simply erased the character from the show, also to bring an actor back the network would have to say yes, and almost for sure the way they treated mrj they would not call him back, being to make Sf the endgame, bc would make them look stupid, and again would ne needed for MRJ want to go back. If Rumple doesnt die this season, u may have a miracle of geting dylan, but even that would be  like i said a miracle.

I am happy as buttercream on a cupcake.

That MRJ got this new pilot. I want this to happen. I accepted the loss of Neal. I am okay with MRJ not coming back to this show and this fandom.

 

I just want Game of Silence to be successful, the GOS fandom to be kind, and most importantly for MRJ to be happy.

 

So in otherwords CS will be CS, it would happen. If Emma want Hook by all means let her have him. Does that mean I love CS, never, does that mean I want it, nope, Does this mean I hate Swanfire, of course not, does that mean I no longer ship Swanfire, of course I do. I ship Swanfire in Fanon in another world were three lost souls get to be a family and find a home where SwanFireQueenFamily are getting into all sorts of Shenanigans, where Henry is happy, Rumbelle is happy, Snowing is Happy, Ruby, Granny, Whale, Dwarves, Fairies, August, Geppeto, Archie are all happy, and family and friends. That is where I am with Swanfire, happy fanon life.

At the end of day, I have more excited things that are happening on other shows. I have Gotham, Graceland, Grimm, and hopeful  Game of Silence (Hmmm I see a pattern here with me. hahahah perhaps Game of Thrones should be my next show.) Of course there is Doctor Who, SVU, Extant, Murder, Librarians.

Basically. There is such good quality TV on these days that I can’t be bothered to have actual hope that ONCE will recover. Now I am just drinking my way through (often times literally…)

I have hope that:
– Neal COULD return. Whether it be permanently for the remainding episodes of the final season or even as a ghost. It could happen and I would never rule it out.
– That Emma and Hook wont be TL or even stay together in the end.
– That IF Neal does return, they COULD write he and Emma back together if they wanted. Especially if its the final season, when they wouldn’t care anymore.
– That even if Emma and Neal aren’t together, he is a part of Rumpels happy ending and there is no way Rump will roll over and let him stay dead if he had the power to rewrite the story.
– I have hope that Henry’s happy ending includes BOTH his parents. Whether they be romantically involved or not.

I have hope for a lot of things. I can’t see the future and can’t say that these things will happen. But I cant say they wont happen either. As long as this show continues to air, there is always a small GLIMMER of hope that we should all have. Or maybe not *shrug*
