So… they just set a precedent for body switching

I’ve never put stock in that speculation for the triangle situation, but I had to laugh when there was actually a body switch in the show. 😆

Did you not see the look on Emma’s face when Neal reunited with Rumple? Neal has forgiven his father for abandoning him and said he came back for him. Emma will learn to forgive Neal for leaving her (if she hasn’t already done so) and we’ve seen Neal come back for her a few times now (e.g. in 2×14 when Neal returned to his apartment to protect Emma from his dad and in 3×3 he returned to NL for Emma and Henry because they’re his second chance). Neal getting a second chance with his dad and hugging him brought a huge smile to Emma’s face, (a smile that has been missing for all of S3). Also, Emma witnessing Neal hugging Rumple made her in turn hug her own parents. Both Emma and Neal, who were both de facto orphans who felt abandoned, both of them found their parents again! Emma and Neal are finally reunited with their families. If that isn’t hope for the Swanfire family, I don’t know what else is!

ALL OF THIS! Each of their stories with their parents took a big step forward in this ep. Parallels between different couples are mentioned so often, but these two have stories that parallel each other. They’re each on this journey of reconciliation with their parents, and as they each learn and grow in that way, I believe it’s another step in the progression of the story that will eventually see their parallel paths actually cross at some point.

But with Emma and Neal I felt that there’s some trust that is still there between them. Emma trusts Neal to bring Henry to the Jolly Roger and keep him safe and Neal trusts Emma to bring back Henry’s heart.

Perfectly said! And trusting isn’t an easy thing for Emma to do, especially with Neal, because for the last 11 years she’s believed that he wasn’t trustworthy at all, so the fact that she does trust him now with something as precious as Henry’s safety, speaks volumes about what she truly feels for him.

I am going to die of laughter when the rumor about Neal being in Hook’s body is real

And I think Emma asked Neal FIRST about where Pan would go, right? And then when Hook made some sort of remark about how “no one’s ever been there (can’t remember exactly what was happening) Neal was a man and stood up and said “let’s go make history.” or something. And at the end, the ship (metaphor!) can’t go anywhere without Neal’s coconut-with-shadow. And SwanFire did that together! They ensured that they would go home. All Hook did was steer! So, in my brain that’s moving a thousand miles a second right now, Hook steered Emma and Neal back home. HA. Back to each other. HA!. And Emma’s final position on the ship is with Hook behind her, not even giving him a second thought. He’s it he past. He belongs to the NL story and it’s almost over. The new story, about the man who helped her get home so many times now, is about to begin.

    I love this so much!!!

I agree Hook As you wish Mi’lady felt like it was just thrown in as something to toss CSers way, while SwanfireSnowingStilskinMills Family have their moment. I’m sorry Hook just doesn’t fit in with them.

I also don’t find that Neal brings out the worse in Emma, he made Emma smile and caused her to share her love in her parents.

I still stand that having Neal by her side helped he realize that she has a family. She stop thinking like a lost girl, an orphan, and start thinking like a mother.

Hook reminded her of Neal according to JMO and according to me, Neal reminds her of Henry and Henry reminds her of Neal.

Rewatching. Once again it’s Hook that gets snotty and pouty after Emma has put faith in Neal.

Emma tells Neal to stay behind and guard Henry and then Neal gives orders to get everyone on the JR, ready to go. He put the plan in motion.

What does Hook do? “Well I hope you have a pegasus to sail or else we’ll be relying on the trade winds.”

Neal: “Pan’s shadow is in this coconut, it’ll get us home. So long as your ship can stay together” (metaphor alert)

Hook “so long as your plan doesn’t fail, she will…” (all snarky)

The entire scene was a little contest, again but it played out, IMO, that Neal came off better.

Emma wants to know where the Thinking Tree is.

Asks Hook who tells her that no one goes there anymore.

Neal says, “then let’s make history”

Emma asks Neal to stay and guard Henry. Charming asks Neal what they need from him and Snow and Neal tells them what to do. NEAL steps up as the leader! Just like Emma.

    Then snarky snarky snarky.

    (this was a disjointed posting…sorry)

    Swanfire Hope

If this doesn’t give you some Hope, I don’t know what will.

Even an six year old gets it!

LOL Ranisha, that’s too adorable! I love that a 6 year old ships Swanfire!

Rewatching it again I really love how Emma smiles at Neal and Rumple reunion. Even though she has mix feelings for Gold, she still happy that Neal is happy and that he reconciled with his father. That smile she gave felt so genuine and warm. She knew exactly how he felt at having their family back together. Gah! that scene just blows everything out of the water!

And yes I agree with RG, Hook was really irritating when trying to goad Neal into another pissing match but Neal just stepped up and turned into a leader and threw whatever Hook said back in his face, without losing his cool. So proud of my man!

After Hook says “As you wish” this time, Emma glances back for the briefiest of seconds then turns back, no smile, no laugh, no knowing look. She could care less.

I just got done watching that scene on You Tube a few times myself. What a BEAUTIFUL moment and Emma’s smile as it was happening spoke volumes to how she still feels about Neal. 🙂
