Seing a movie and some kids asked their parents how they meet and dont know why ouat came to may mind, bc i think the most funny thing is that all other couples had very interesting 1st meetings, being SW and SF the most funny ones, while CS 1st encounter was when he help Cora kill a village and hide below some dead bodies, i say that screams TL all the way, i mean who would not want to meet their TL whne they help someone commit mass murder, i imagine CS kids wanting to know how the 1st meet and cs having to tell them that story, poor kids will be scared for life, LOL.

Also, @Rainbow — I totally forgot that this was the circumstances of their first meeting. This actually makes me think that when the writers introduced Hook, they didn’t have a clue they were going to do CS. Because really, there’s no way to “pretty” that one up. The only solution is to sweep it under the rug, and pretend it was like that when they found it.
Jane has talked about Hook and Spike’s similarities and how that helps her understand and write Hook (which makes me vomit but moving on)
Well, now that’s just depressing. I suppose they both favor long leather trench coats and guy liner? Seriously, though — they did both start off as villains, but the crucial difference is that Spike was originally comic relief. And the show kept his deeply flawed, humorous, and pretty self-reflexive side when they developed the character into a regular. At the same time, when he’s not posturing, he’s got some pretty insightful commentary on the other characters and their relationships. I think OUAT tried to do this with Hook, but without the humor, and these relatable flaws, it makes him come off as spewing banalities.
The problem is that the writers try to give Hook too many desirable qualities which are mutually exclusive: you can’t have a rogue without humor, the smoldering dark’n’handsome heartthrob without convincing internal conflict, or the wizened sage without… well, earned wisdom, and you can’t have all three together (the rogue trickster can’t be wise, the sage can’t be a conflicted heartthrob, and the conflicted heartthrob can’t be humorous and tricksy)
