ParticipantOnce again, Snow and Charming encouraged Emma to have lunch with Neal because she owes it to herself! Could they be any more obvious about which man they’d rather have as a potential son-in-law? They blatantly favor Neal for Emma! Charming says Emma reminds him of Snow, and we all know how much Snow thinks Neal might just be Emma’s happy ending! Life is full of moments and having lunch with Neal would’ve been one of them had PP not gotten in the way. Why did he have summon the shadow at that precise moment?
At least we saw Neal ask Emma out and Emma smile. Neal put his heart on the line for Emma. She told Charming she wasn’t quite ready, she was going to join Neal for lunch right up until Blue got her shadow ripped off! I just hope Neal realizes why things got interrupted. I’d hate for him to give up his pursuit because he fallaciously believes Emma wasn’t ever going to show, because she would’ve. Ugh. Bad timing, again!
And let’s not forget Hook. Props to him for saying he was going to back off, but way to be a baby about it! He was trying to make Emma jealous ON PURPOSE by making Emma think he was hooking up with Tink, even though Tink flat-out said nothing happened. Hook’s behavior reminds me of a jealous teenage boy trying to make a girl he likes jealous by pretending to like someone else. And this is Hook’s long-term strategy of how to woo Emma “for the long haul”? And now we know that Emma being in NYC with Hook might just be part of the new curse that PP is getting ready to unleash, which means Emma may not even be in her right mind in 3×12, which means, that anything that happens while in NYC might be purely her cursed persona! Suddenly, I see why she’s wearing those ugly plaid pants.

KeymasterI….have a lot to say and don’t know if I am in the right frame of mind to say it. So it’s going to be scattered and bulleted.
–I am 10000$% done with Hook. I know others are going to defend him but I have some deeply personal reasons for why what he did tonight is never ok. So much for “when I win your heart it won’t be through mind games!” How is making Emma think that he hooked up with Tink not a mind game?!
–How is making Neal think that he is going to stand aside (and then basically doing the exact opposite) not a mind game?
–“Were you guys…” “Perhaps” 100000% done with him. I’m sorry to any Hook fan who reads this or any CSers who came over to spy on us. I apologize that I am having a very hard time not flat out yelling right now.
–She was going to go to lunch with Neal. And that brings me to something that is very ahrd to say. Love triangles in TV work one way, typically. Both sides get played out, and the thing that comes first isn’t the thing that lasts. I am very worried that Emma is getting SF first. Very worried.
–The look of pain on Neal’s face when Emma didn’t show. 🙁
–I’m not a fan of Neal asking Emma out and being a little pushy. I expected better of him and frankly it’s not going to do much to show the other side that he’s a good guy.
–DaddyCharming for all things right now
–I…am going to stop typing and get out of the shipping mode and go back to episode talk but…this was both a YAY SF episode and a OMG NO episode for me.

ParticipantOK I’ve been able to absorb tonight’s episode. Just some initial thoughts on SF:
I agree that Neal was a bit pushy with Emma asking her to lunch, but at least he did it gently and gave her the CHOICE to make whether she wants to join him or not. Neal didn’t even try to make it a date just sort of a “talk” which I think they sorely need. I really liked that he put himself out there, risking potential rejection unlike the last time. So I believe it’s an improvement on his part. AND Emma gave a small smile at Neal’s attempt.
Gah! I love daddy charming. His talk with Emma is what I want to see more of in terms of father/daughter relationship. It hit all the right notes on him giving her advice to grasp the happy moments, when Emma was too afraid of allowing herself that luxury. I still believe Emma doesn’t want to let Neal in because the moment she’s happy she’s afraid that bad things will happen again. I like that Charming tries to tell her that those are the moments that you should grab onto. It wasn’t because Emma believes Neal is a bad guy and is not right for her, it’s because she’s too afraid to let herself have her happy moment. And she was about to go to Granny’s with Charming!!!!! WHY? Because Neal is waiting for her!!!! She wanted to give her dad’s advice a shot!!!! 🙂 *happy dance!*
As for Hook, man oh man, does he look like such a douche in this episode. I can’t wait to see how CSers or Hook fans will spin this around and defend him. His scene with Tink was just absolutely disgusting, that even I was surprised the writers went there.
Really Hook? Getting drunk and trying to get Tink to have “quickies” with you in the bathroom is your plan to get Emma to love you? Not to mention making Emma think that you and Tink “hooked” up? UGH! I applaud Tink for shooting him down flat. I’ll admit his one liners and him being a jerk was what I missed since season 2. I would love to have Hook the villain back. If he keeps this up it’s fine by me. It just makes Neal look soooo much better.

ParticipantI don’t think Neal was being pushy. I think he honestly didn’t know how to approach things with her. He originally just wanted them to talk, just the two of them, and when she didn’t know how to react to that he brought up just sitting together and having lunch. Emma never looked annoyed with him or anything and she even gave him a little smile so I think she just wasn’t prepared to have him want to talk about things this soon. A lot of time has passed but Neal has also been waiting for a long time just to see her again much less talk to her so I can see him being nervous and unsure of himself.
My heart actually broke for both of them tonight. Seeing his face while he was sitting alone in the diner (OMG, I was in tears and am about to cry again) and then seeing Emma with her dad being totally unsure of what to do. She WANTS to believe Neal and spend time with him but she’s understandably scared about it too. She was totally going to have lunch with him and at least talk but that darn Pan….dang I hate him even more now. Emma saying that because she’s the savior that she thinks she’ll never have any happiness or a life away from it totally killed me. No wonder she’s scared to talk to Neal. She just figures something will happen again to tear them apart and she’ll lost him all over again. I hate seeing everyone hurting so much right now. (((SwanFire)))
Personally, I don’t think the order of relationships matters on this show. They don’t seem to do things by the book, so to speak, so I’m not too worried about the Triangle of Doom and who comes first. I honestly don’t think SF is actually going to COME first right now. This new curse thing is going to throw everything out of whack and I don’t think anything is going to come of SF due to the new threat (and partially Emma not showing for lunch; I agree that Neal really needs to know why she didn’t show up but I fear he won’t know that for a while). I think CS stuff is going to happen first after all and it’s what will help Emma realize that she does want to work things out with Neal and she’ll eventually come to him ready to talk things out.
I’m done with Hook too. Backing off and then using trickery anyway? Not a fan of that and I hate ANY guy who pulls that crap. I don’t care if you’re a hottie. Saying you’re going to ‘win’ Emma without pulling any mind games and then doing the exact OPPOSITE of that is NOT COOL in my book either. He and Tink have a great chemistry together, I thought that since early in the season, so they need to do something there for sure. Get him out of Emma’s life because he’s going to hurt her and I don’t want to see that happen. 🙁
Tonight’s episode was pretty good overall (Jared did a great Pan tonight! So impressed with him and Robbie was a great Henry too) but this new curse thing totally spoiled any enjoyment I have with this show. Separating everyone again? People forgetting who they are again? No way to break a new curse? Not a fan. If the entire second half the season is all about everyone trying to figure their identities out all over again I might be done with this show. They better have something else in mind because I am NOT happy right now. 🙁
*SWANFIRE HUGS ALL AROUND* 🙁

KeymasterI did love the part at the end where Emma admits that being the Savior means she doesn’t get a day off and therefore she doesn’t get “moments” like Charming was saying. And those moments involve Neal. That’s what she is thinking of–moments she wants with Neal, where she gets to just be a girl with her guy, not a care in the world. Those things don’t happen for Emma anymore.
Really Hook? Getting drunk and trying to get Tink to have “quickies” with you in the bathroom is your plan to get Emma to love you? Not to mention making Emma think that you and Tink “hooked” up? UGH! I’ll admit his one liners and him being a jerk was what I missed since season 2. I would love to have Hook the villain back. If he keeps this up it’s fine by me. It just makes Neal look soooo much better.
I am also surprised the writers went here. After all the whitewashing they did early this season about being a hero. I already know that people are going to say that Hook is in pain over loosing Emma–or thinking that he lost Emma–but you don’t do what he did. If he was an honorable man, then he’d keep to his word not to play mindgames and to “be there in the long haul.” Be there in the long haul doesn’t mean going to get a quickie super fast. And I already know people are going to bring up Tamara and how this is exaclty what Neal did. But it’s not. He waited 10 years and then was with Tamara becuase he was scared. Hook didn’t even make it 24 hours before seeking comfort. I am…having a hard time with Hook right now.

ParticipantHmm, I’m realizing now why Hook is starting to get on my nerves…he reminds me of this one guy I used to work with when I was a teenager. We worked at a fast food place for a while together and he always said things in certain ways and acted very much like Hook at times. I knew that he liked me but I was never interested in him (for one, he was way older than me) and kept shooting him down. He kept asking and asking and finally gave up after I really told him I was not interested in him. He made me feel so uncomfortable at times and that’s how Hook is making me feel now. Smarmy and dirty are the only words I have to describe it and I am having a hard time with this now. If you want to make him evil or bad, go for it, but then stop having this Triangle of Doom with Emma because she deserves WAY better than to be some conquest for a smarmy pirate. 🙁
/end rant (sorry for the personal issue there but I couldn’t handle it anymore)
