I think the biggest thing against any of this meaning anything is that there was no announcement that Neal would be back for a scene. They would announce it, so i think he isn’t going to be in the episode.
they more than likely want to 1) keep it a surprise and 2) not have to deal with angry CS fans who will threaten to not watch the show or something.

I don’t think the writers keep things surprises
They do; the problem is that more often than not, the surprises get out. Example: Cora being in SB, Pan being Rumple’s father, Rumple stabbing Pan, Anna and Elsa reuniting, Marian being dead all along, Emma taking on the Darkness, Hook dying. When asked about any of this stuff, Adam normally plays it off as #NoSpoilers or Keep Watching!
There are some thing that they keep very closed off, though: the Cruella twist, Rumple being the DO again, Zelena being pregnant. Even Neal dying while heavily speculated wasn’t known (for sure) beforehand. These things are typically shot indoors, away from paps and therefore no one knows about them beforehand and most of the viewers are surprised.

The last time MRJ was on the show he tweeted that he was on set filming and Adam said he would be back on the show. I am just not convinced. I want him back on the show, but this just isn’t enough information to convince me. We’ll see i guess. I am just not hoping for anything.

Actually a example how they like to keep secrets, was that even tho MRJ was credit after 315 in all episodes of s3, they not once said he would be in 319 and 322, to keep it a surprise. Another example is that they are fast to say no Jamie dornan and no Seb Stan, but MRJ and Neal is never say never.
Although I wonder, if the spoiler if true and Neal ends doing a small cameo as a ghost appearance in 512, that will be only like 10 seconds and won’t develop Neal, and may only ends with him saying goodbye to Henry, what did motivated MRJ to accept this? He always said after TB that we wasn’t fan of vision/ ghost flashbacks returns to show bc won’t develop characters, why did he thought this would be a good idea? A 10 second scene and then Neal would move on, well not even move on, bc he will be not important enough to the storyline, and worst scenario he will become a fanboy for cs. At least I hope if mrj returns for a cameo, that he was smart to ask lots of money and get a new role on some future Disney movie.

It’ll really suck if he and Henry don’t speak. I don’t know about you all, but that really means more to me than neal and Emma or neal and Rump having a conversation. Rump is literally going against everything Bae would want him to be and Emma is just being….idk what. Henry is the one who deserves his words the most, especially since he is the one who had the least amount of time with him. But honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ghost Neal appears and literally only says some warning words to Emma and dissipates never to be seen again, with no notice of his son or father.

I just really want a Henry/Daddy Neal scene! Henry deserves to see his dad one last time.
