KeymasterThe fact that Jane–or really any women writers on OUAT–haven’t, as @Nevermore put it, “taken the lot of them by the scruff of the neck and set them straight about how CS is coming off” bothers me quite a bit.
I take one of two things from it. Either A) they don’t want to lose their jobs by trying to course correct the show runners (seems likely given how Hollywood is a Boys Town anyway, that is only recently beginning to really change) OR B) they are of the opinion that media and society have no intersection. I find the latter incredibly difficult to believe since BtVS and BSG were both *very much* about society and social values, culture and cultural values, and even the clash between different cultures/societies.
For Jane to work on a show that think S3B-present day Emma Swan can fit with the likes of “strong women” Buffy/ Willow and Starbuck/President Roslin is…oh, baffling to say the least.

Participant(except Tallahasse, but I don’t think she ment for Hook to be seen as a love interest),
Of course not, by then, neither of them would look at Hook as a love interest, but now they all say that 206 was the beginning of the Cs story, so yeah, i dont trust any of them and the way they act with fans online support my opinion, people that dare to ask them about critiacl stuff are called bullies, haters and Cs fans are praise, so yeah, i dont believe or respect any of them.

I agree with you on that. She even contributed to Jessica Jones according to her, which is a mirror to what OUAT does wrong.
I always wondered if OUAT was the reason she didn’t continue with GOT. I think it is a missed opportunity for both her and the show.

Her contribution was revise scripts to see if there were no grammar or spelling mistakes, so she actually gave no contribution to the story what so ever

Oh, I didn’t know that. I thought she was a consultant or something.

Yeah that hurts my soul.
I’ve often wondered if Jane being unhappy or at least disinterested in OUAT is the reason why she doesn’t write as much as she did
Episodes penned by Jane (either alone or with another person)
S1: 6
S2: 5
S3: 3
S4: 4
S5 (so far): 3 (not including 520 probably being hers)

Didn’t know that either. So that makes my soul hurt less.

i saw some screen shot f that tweet on tumblr, where she said she revised the scripts to see if everything was good, or something like that, that is why she only got special thanks on the show, bc also one of the writers and exe producers worked on ouat in S1, and she may have asked her, or abc, since jessica jones is produced by Marvel, abc studios for Netflix.

Maybe that was the Tequila? *hopeful look*
Anyway, I’m sure most of you have seen this, but here’s an interview with the Jessica Jones crew, including Jane, who was brought for the “polishing touches.” I actually think some of her commentary is really telling.
Also, with A&E also focus on the new show, there are people and is well known that Jane is their right arm, that she may also some saying on the story.
I see what you’re saying, @Rainbow, but I’m skeptical. I think for the showbiz crew, Twitter is a promotional platform, and I suspect there’s probably a party line that’s coming top-down about how to interact with the fans. I would not take any of this at face value. Much of it is public presentation of the participants (say, Jane, or the crew) not as Jane or Josh or Lana or whoever, but as representatives of a product (OUAT).
Someone like Jane has to balance her own self-promotion of the product Jane Espenson ™, with the interests of the other product she’s currently associated with: OUAT. She, like most of the other folks on the project, will go on to other things. So now, it’s all about balancing their respective brands – their personal brand, their current project’s brand, their side projects’ brands and so on, without alienating anyone too much. Anyway, I’d not take any social media commentary as a representation of anyone’s true feelings — this isn’t entertainment for them, it’s their jobs, and like the rest of us, they probably have to show loyalty to the organization that employs them.
About Jane and Jessica Jones:
She was doing editing work, not copyediting or typesetting. These are very different things. Here’s an interview which many of you have probably seen, but it gives you a sense of how, exactly, she was involved in the project. She didn’t pen the original text, but as she says was brought it on write scenes and “massage” the existing writing. As she says here, she’s good at and enjoys writing dialogue, not the overarching story.

Maybe that’s the reason Ginny deleted her twitter. BTW when did she do it?
