ParticipantOh my gosh that video! Ugh! My heart hurts. Emma and Neal both deserve a happy ending and it would just be poetic if theirs were together! 🙂

Agreed. And in the words of Adam when it comes to the poetry of SF : “That’s what we were going for”

ParticipantAnother lovely GIF set of Snowing/Swanfire parallels. Like mother, like daughter!

You owe it to yourself.

KeymasterA delightful little pro Neal essay
Oh how things change over the course of a couple of seasons. When it was first being speculated that Neal was Baelfire, I was adamantly against it. There was NO way I would support that theory. I didn’t want everything to come full circle and have Rumple be, once again, connected to something like the subject of Henry’s father.
And then, after Manhattan,I completely loved with the character. On paper I dislike what I originally did, but the character of Neal was a completely different story. As the episodes have gone by, Neal has developed into one of my favorite characters…ever.
Here is a man so wronged in life. His mother abandoned him. His father abandoned him. Hook abandoned him. And still, he has continuously sacrificed his happiness just so others could be happy. He let himself be taken to Neverland to save the Darlings. He left Emma, a woman he loved and didn’t want to leave, so that she could break the curse. He left Manhattan to go back and be near his father, a place with magic that he hated, just to be a father to the son he just discovered that he had. Then, after being shot, Neal sacrifices his own life to go into the portal, just so Emma wouldn’t be thrown down a portal and be without Henry. After discovering that Emma and Henry were in Neverland, he went back there. He spent so long trying to escape that place, and yet he went back.
Neal has dealt with abandonment from the people in life that are usually people that can be relied on. And he’s still so optimistic about things.
People might fault Neal for leaving Emma in the first place, for moving on after eleven years of being alone, for using Roland to get to Neverland, or whatever else, but I don’t. Because in those instances, it wasn’t like they were Neal’s first choices. Obviously he has regretted leaving Emma, and it took him over a decade to start to move on. Then that woman shot him and betrayed him. Roland was also his one chance to get to Neverland, and Robin Hood did eventually agree.
While in Neverland, Neal had to hear that confession from Emma. He had to hear that his own father was planning on killing Henry, the son he just met, the son he was willing to sacrifice his own life for.
I loved it when Neal told Emma that if she wanted to meet him and talk, he would be waiting. This man has been through hell and back over and over again. He deserves some happiness in his life.
Let’s not forget that he also is able to command The Dark One without the dagger. 😛

ParticipantLOL I know I loved that pic RG. Swanfire shot a cannon together, and I find that humorous. Was intentional or not, we shall never know?
Man I have been reading everyone post and I truly blown away by your observations and insightfulness.
I was thinking about Swanfire and Captain Swan.
Captain Swan is explosive, spicy, hot, lustful (I can admit that begrudgingly) they are like fireworks, loud and pretty, but all fireworks fizzle and eventually die out leaving only a memory of something pretty.
Swanfire are like the stars, beautiful magical and endearing, they may be hidden in the day light but when you are in your darkest point they shine the brightest. After the fireworks have fade the stars remain steady. They provide direction, guidance, and hope. Its no wonder when Emma saw the stars on the cave’s ceiling; she thought of home. When you are lost, the stars can guide you home.
