What is it about OUAT that somehow unleashed all the trolls?
First : The Showrunners and cast did not put this fandom in its place back when that shipping thing started getting out of hand and actors were getting tons of disrespectful comments and tweets from entitle fans who think they know everything up down right left and in between therefore must express what ever they want when they want no matter how rude or crude. Second: Hope and Happy Endings and True Love, fantasy blended with reality. And this show became a beacon that if their faves can get a happy ending with that significant other then by darnit they can get this fanatical happy ending as well. (I am guilty of that but for different reasons. Neal’s death hurt me because I wanted to know second chances were a true thing, that despite hardships in the end you can have joy and happiness with family and friends and it would all work out because during that time I was experiencing familial tragedy and hardships that I look to this show for a positive and uplifting message that second chances can occur, that despite suffering in life a happy ending awaited all. And honestly the brutal truth at least for me was that this was not the show to look for those concepts or that message.) Third: Shipping it got out of hand it took over the show the fandom the writing everything. This is my take on it. I am probably more wrong than right. But that is just my thoughts on the subject.
Agree, I never saw writers, cast and crew so afraid of the fans like OUAT one, i have to say that there are bad apples in every part of this fandom, i know @wickedregal will say SQ fans are the biggest bullies, bc of Sean stuff, but i can say this and is not just bc im a MRJ fan, every part of OUAT fandom has reasons to complain about CS fans and is without a doubt that the part of the fandom where there are more bad apples exist and the one that everyone involved in the show has most afraid, is not surprising that Cs stuff are pure fan service, that they are the only ship that is happy.
Actually I agree with this sentiment…Nearly half of the SQ are petty, rude, and downright disrespectful to not only the show’s fans but the cast itself….However, there are definetly more than just half in the CS Fandom. And in spite of my own opinion of the SQ Fandom, a part of me definetly feels they are in someway entitled to their wrath because without a doubt does this show bait them, I mean they literally dangle SwanQueen in front of their face just to keep them watching, So with Adam and Eddy’s constant baiting, I do think SQ should be pissed, but they take it out on the wrong people, aka Sean, Colin, and few times in the past MRJ. Their anger and bitterness should solely be placed on Adam, Eddy, & ABC Network.
On the other hand with CS…I’ve got no sympathy. They have gotten literally everything they ever wanted, and still complain for more, more, & more! There are few, and I do mean few Hookers/CS, who are absolute sweethearts, but the majority in that fandom are as toxic as they come. There’s even a war now between OutlawQueen & CaptainSwan over everything that’s happened, including their constant harassment to Sean Maguire who only liked a tweet, and their insane hatred for Lana Parrilla.
But at the end of the day, when you combine every part of this fandom and separate the good from the bad…it’d at least come out to 65% Bad Apples & 35% Good Apples, so it’s toxic all around in the OUAT Fandom as a whole. But I agree with everything @Ranisha, @Rainbow, & @Slurpeez posted! In the end, unless you’re a fan of guyliner and doe-eyed savior, it’s like Cruella said, the game is most definetly rigged!

Yeah, the fact is, online OUAT fandom is well known from all fandoms as a very bad one, even TVD fandom that are no angels and are also toxic, they all unite when comes to say OUAt fandom is toxic as hell.

This is more than bait of previous years, now since MRJ has no new project they are passing the ball to him, AKA if we dont get Neal flashbacks is bc MRJ doesnt want to return to film that, so dont yell at us, go yell at him, bc we didn`t lied and even if they really dont want him there, is not like MRJ will say they never invited me, they are lying if they hint i didnt want to, so the bad apples that say that MRJ left the show bc he didnt want to eb there, will think they are right.
Although, with this sudden open to talk about MRJ and neal, i hope this means last season this year, wont have that luck but dreaming is free.I think A&E probably know deep down that they really messed up their story. They sold their birthright for a bowl of stew. As much as I love Neal and though I loved seeing Neal in 5×12, I’m wishing MRJ far better acting gigs than what A&E might offer him, especially since it seems clear that they’re going to continue to push CS. What would be the point of bringing back Neal now after Hook was brought back from the dead but Neal wasn’t? As to whether MRJ would even be inclined to accept again, I think he’s already said he’s said goodbye to Neal.
On a lighter note, how did your “surprise” Once Upon a Time encore come about?
[The idea of returning] had been broached before, but with everyone’s schedules it’s hard to find windows. I’ve been working pretty consistently the last couple of years, so I didn’t have a lot of time. But when their 100th episode came up, I was finishing up Game of Silence and I did have a window that they were able to work around. I missed the shooting of the actual episode, but they made accommodations to have me shoot the scene with Jen [Morrison] after they had moved on to a few episodes beyond that at that point. It worked out, and I’m glad it did. It was fun to do and it felt like a nice little bookend to the character. x"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. Also based on MRJ interview to Matt, he also said he has lots of “admiration for the show and A&E”, i wonder how much was the value of check of Admiration he received for doing a 3 min scene in 512 and MRJ also revealed that Neal was supposed to appear before 512, in other epis( which i dont even know why or when, bc on S4 he was not even mentioned at all) but was not possible bc he was not available, so when they got the epi 100 they made every possible to have him there , also we cant forget back then whne this interview was made, GOS hadnt premiered, so he didnt knew the show would have a S2 or not and im not saying this bc i want him back, i now more than ever want him to get another job soon, but i dont think that will happen until some months, maybe even only next year on pilot season.
Although a present scene with henry and rumple would still be more wanted for me, than SF scenes in the past, heck they could make Rumple and henry dreaming with Neal and talking with him, they even have morpheus to do thatNow MRj is doing nothing at the moment and like i said before, until he finds a full time job and as his fan i can tell u this, i think would give him lots of fun to go to vancouver undercorver and piss a bit Cs fandom with neal and emma scenes, MRJ is a sweetheart, but he can also be very ” im so going to play with you all, just to see the fandom going crazy and get bit upset and in btw i will get pay for one epi or 2 and then i get another job”.

Going to tell you something, go to the promotional thread on the forum and see the last post, check that pic there and u may find something funny, especially taking in consideration the 512 scene and i believe there was sign pointing to asylum direction, that was how the S5 ended and is a place that belongs in the LUS.
Im going to give you hints, above the letters “OLD S” there is a castle, above the castle what do you see, watch closely and think 512 scene, i was call to atention to this by @Ranisha.
