GoT is based on the book series ASoIaF, yes. That does not mean it is a strict retelling and that the TV show has not taken–in some cases extreme–liberties with the source material.

Season 1 was a good adaptation, season 2-4 did follow the major events from books 2-3 (although sometimes they rearranged the order of events and some of the characterization was different), but book 4-5 were never made to screen IMO with few exceptions: Cersei’s walk of shame, Jaime and Blackfish confrontation at Riverrun and Arya’s earlier days at Braavos.

All movies or tv show adaptations have differences in relation to the books they are adapted, they are after all adaptations not copies, the diffences comes if the changes made are small, like hunger games, divergent and Harry potter, to give some examples or big changes, for example, as fan of Dan Brown books, i can say that the 3 movies so far made from his books, have big changes regarding the books, one of them, being the timeline, that they changes to look like the order of the movies is how the stories happened when they werent, since the book order is not the order of the movies, in fact from the 3 movies, the last one, Inferno, takes most liberties with changes, not only the events of past movies are not mentioned, but they also changed the story of one character and how the said character ends, in fact that character that in the book is sort of victim, in the movies becames the 2nd villain of the movie, just to mention some changes, this latest movie could be a standalone and without need of reading the book, that is how big the changes are.

In other news, how’s everyone doing? How’s everyone feel about the season? We don’t have a whole lot to talk about recently–I can’t decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing?

Welp, I’ve been okay. My birthday is tomorrow actually. I have managed to live yet another year. So that’s good.
It always times like this I realize how boring of a life I’ve lived T_T Oh, I’ve also been trying to convince my mother to get a cat for my sister. No dice. I just want a cat for some reason.
How’s everyone feel about the season?
at first I was a little meh about it, but it seems to be getting better. Last episode was really nice and the next one looks really great. We got rid of Jekyll and Hyde quicker than I expected though but EQ is very interesting. So far, its a pretty decent season in my eyes.

LOL. Given that we’ve survived for–what–almost three years post 315, we’re not going anywhere.
Let’s see:
–I’m fine. Busy. Doing a lot of random crafts lately. Basically exhausted from the American election (if you follow me on Twitter you know I haven’t stayed silent during this one); there’s a lot of really good TV on this year–highly recommending Westworld and This is Us. Timeless is also worth watching.
–I feel about the same as @theWatcher when it comes to the season. The first 6 episodes or so were completely blah and aimless (episode 5 was particularly bad) but episode 7 did a nice turn around.
–Hook, Hook, Hook. I dunno. I guess if I have nothing bad to say right now (in terms of this season at least) that’s…good? I have bigger moral fish to fry with S6 right now.

A bit stressed and distracted from OUAT by other issues last week. As for this season, I’d say it’s bit alright, if a little flat. I don’t have too many criticisms but it’s failing to ignite the passion of the old days. The main reason I still watch it is the fun of discussing it here.

Baaaaad thing!! Conversation is fun! If OUAT fails to inspire, let’s talk about other shows!

I know. The best thing I can say about this season is that it’s perfectly adequate. What other shows are people watching? I’m also on the Westworld and Timeless bandwagon, though missed an episode of the latter. Any books/movies worth picking up?
What other shows are people watching?
My current passion is ‘Orange is the New Black’. Would love to discuss that one, especially S4. Anyone else watch it? Then there’s ‘The 100’. I’d be happy to discuss older seasons, and S4 is airing in Jan, I think. I’m also planning to watch ‘Stranger Things’ soon.

The only new show that I’ve started recently was Black Mirror on Netflix so I’ve been enjoying that. Is that even a show? Or like a series of films? Idk, but its good.
I plan on starting Penny Dreadful soon (sheesh I feel like ive been saying that since forever!) right after I’m done with the final season of Merlin, which is taking me forever. Umm, lets see. Candlecove on SyFy is interestingly terrifying so I might continue with that.
