KeymasterIt doesn’t need to be logical. None of this is logical. All they have to say is that Nealfire is off far far far away (heck even in a different realm like Wonderland because, again, PLOT) where he doesn’t hear the news of Snowing until later and during his journey home, Emma and Regina leave and the WishWorld is now inaccessible because PLOT. It’s not like it really matters. The WishWorld is going last a few episodes, probably.
MRJ has never said no to them. When they needed Neal, they got him.

This is different,MRJ went one time,if he had been in more epis than 512, i could agree that he really loves everyone and would return everytime they ask him, but like he said after, he did 512 to give the character a end, a closure for fans to know Neal was happy( even tho he was dead), he could totally refuse now, bc he was not going there to do what could have been and then still be death and unlike Sean not even appear in other epis. Even Sean said in interviews, he said if was to do flashback he would not go, he was going to do in order to give OQ fans closure and have a actual story, that appears will be in 5 epis

ParticipantOk while it’s nice that Adam’s all “SwanFire meeting was destiny!” in that tweet…they STILL went and had him die in the WishWorld without Henry even meeting him which, given that it’s supposedly Emma’s WishWorld, is infuriating. There is actually a real simple solution here, writers. When Henry wishes his father were there Emma could just say “Baelfire is off [insert irrelevant plot point here] and even though he and I are no longer together I know he’s proud of you today, Henry.” Look, I solved it. Bae’s alive and plays an active role in Henry’s life, Emma and Neal aren’t together in order to appease the shippers on the other side of this great divide, Regina is still the one who saves Emma from the WishWorld to appease still the OTHER shippers, and Hook will likely show up in the WishWorld and make moon eyes at Emma (and vice verse) to give the ratings/ad buyers/ABC soulless vampires their CS fix and everyone leaves before Bae comes back to WishWorld Casa Charming, thus getting MRJ out of having to appear. My god. Why don’t I write this show?
And while we don’t know if this world will exist after Emma and Regina leave, even if it does, Baelfire has a built-in-reason to stay, and Emma and Regina one to leave. The same one actually. Baelfire has a son, who’s maternal grandparents just died, paternal grandparents are evil, and will soon be motherless. They could even have a touching farewell. Emma and Regina keep talking about how they don’t to orphan their Henry. While this is a version of their Henry, he won’t be completely orphaned as long as his father is around. And do Baelfire and Henry really want to immediately follow Emma, who is following Regina, who killed Emma’s parents?

How do you know MRJ has never said no to them? It’s possible the writers wanted him back in addition to 5×12, but he said no. As @rainbow pointed out, MRJ only did it to give Neal fans closure (well as much as they were going to get). Would MRJ really ever want to come back now? Sadly, I doubt it since MRJ already said it was a nice bookend to that character.
On a related note, A&E actually directly addressed the issue of why Baelfire was dead in the wish-world. It’s not because Emma wished that Henry would grow up without knowing his father. Rather, it was as I speculated before: Baelfire being dead in the wish-world is the price that comes with the wish.
Adam Horowitz: This is how we’ve established the rules of wishes on Once Upon A Time, the case of when you make a wish, there are unintended consequences. These were the twisted consequences of the Evil Queen asking to have Emma’s wish realized, which is why there are things like, you know, Baelfire clearly died and he’s her hero in an oil painting there, and clearly didn’t go off to visit the Darlings and have that stuff happen. The history is slightly different. It’s not a ‘Back to the Future, you went back and changed one thing in the past’ [situation], this was a wish that conjured up a realm to teach Emma a lesson which is due, and the lesson was ‘Don’t wish to undo all the things that made you who you are.’ And I think by the end of the episode, you saw Emma realize that she liked who she was, and that she wouldn’t want to change that. So, Baelfire being dead was a “twisted consequence” of the wish. In other words, be careful what you wish for since it always comes with a price.

Well this doesn’t make a lick of sense but whatever. It doesn’t matter why he’s dead, what the WishWorld made or didn’t make. It doesn’t matter if they asked MRJ and he said no or they didn’t ask him at all. They made sure to put in a Nealfire reference to save themselves a massive headache from angry fans demanding to know where he was and whether or not he was still Henry’s father (never mind that their answer is sloppy, inconsistent, incoherent, and all around dumb). I mean, sure. Yay that SwanFire was always destined to meet and have Henry. It’s a hollow victory; we got our Swanfire reference for the year and now…back to your regularly scheduled CS.

ParticipantOkay, we’ve talked about the reference to Baelfire and Swanfire being destined, no matter what. Are we going to talk about how Princess Emma was humming “Someday My Prince Will Come” while picking flowers when suddenly Regina arrived — dressed like a prince? How are we supposed to interpret that? Regina being dressed as a prince didn’t seem like just a coincidence.

It was kind of funny, an interesting choice. This could be seen as – whats it called -“ship-bating” or just as a comment like this- “No, you dont need a Prince to show you who you are. You need good friends and family”-
Thats how I choose to interpret it, ’cause as ship-bate, its uninteresting..

Ship bait. They like giving the Swen fandom big moment that make total sense (because SQ actually makes more sense than any other ship on this show, apart from SwanFire) and then they refuse to go there because…*insert your choice of reason why here*
