Just rowing over to say congrats (is that the correct sentiment??) on getting the Neal poster released.  I know it was really bothering you all that they hadn’t released it, so I’m happy for you!

That seems like an end-game thing, and Neal told Emma just this past episode that he’d quit bugging her if she didn’t show up to lunch. Even though Emma was on her way to meet him, she got diverted when she heard the BF’s cries for help, and so Neal might fallaciously believe Emma made her choice. So, as much as I would hope to see that swan pendant, my realistic side tells me Neal doesn’t want to come across as too pushy to Emma. Now, if Emma is the one who brings it up, then I’d be all for that! I’d love to see the eminent arrival of the curse cause Emma and Neal’s love to gush forward as it did in 2×21 when Neal dropped through the portal.

I agree. We have to look at it from a TV/storytelling perspective. Both sides have to be played out to a logical conclusion. And we don’t know how this new curse will change things

But never mind that we got a Nealfire Posters, I am so excited about that.

    Agreed. Our boy deserved one

That means a lot RGF, thank you. No matter what it had said, we just wanted ABC to be fair to his fans.

I’m perplex that other people think that the poster was Neal’s second chance at being a family with Rumple. Granted that’s true but I didn’t really see it that way at all. Throughout the whole season all his kept thinking about was finding Emma and Henry. Rumple wants to seek a second chance with his son, not really the other way around since during the beginning of the season all Neal saw of his father was beating a man and wanting nothing to do with him. It’s good that he reconciled with his father but if the “Believe in Second Chances” has any meaning attached to Neal, we all know that he’s hoping for a second chance at family with Emma. His whole mission was about Emma and Henry.

So yeah, just putting it out there. I’ve liked the poster on the official Once FB page and got out of dodge when I started seeing nasty comments of “Emma is not his second chance” blah blah blah…. -_- Oi vey….

I think that’s a really good point Luna. The second chance with Rumple implies that Neal is the one who did something wrong and must ask Rumple to give him a second chance. But it’s the other way around. So yes, I think we could take Rumple out of the equation.

Neal said it himself in 303: “You gotta understand–this is my second chance,” referring to Henry and Emma.

Yes, but I think Neal getting his second chance doesn’t need to be mutually exclusive. It very easily could refer to both a second chance with his dad and a second chance with Henry and Emma. So far we’ve seen Neal and Rumple make a lot of headway in their father-son dynamic, and I think that will continue as Neal teams up with his dad to take on his granddad. I also think Neal has made a lot of strides towards being there for Henry and Emma. All that remains is Emma’s choice as to whether she’s ready or not. Neal doesn’t plan on leaving again though, since he’s going to be there for Henry, and by extension, Emma. Now, whether the curse tares them apart again is another matter…Spoiler pics from 3×12 show Emma and Henry in NYC with Hook and Neal back in the Enchanted Forest with Belle, Snow, Charming, Regina, and somewhat confusingly, Hook again. So who knows what is really happening since Hook was spotted in both locations, but it seems that Neal does get separated again from Emma and Henry, sadly. Yet, perhaps part of the drama entails Emma remembering who she is and then fighting to get Neal to remember her again. That way Emma would be in the position of pursuer who goes after Neal because she loves him and is actively choosing to help him remember her again.

Also true. Neal is getting a second chance with Emma and Henry but he’s GIVING a second chance to his Papa (so many feels in one sentence)

    lol…somewhat confusingly.

But if they are separated during New Curse, it seems like it only lasts 1 episode. I think Emma is going to have to break this new Curse and my deepest dream is that it’s done through the TLK of SF. This may be a pipe dream but….we’ll see

I would love it if Emma finds a way to break the curse within an episode, and even more so if Emma breaks the curse by kissing Neal, not Hook! You’re right in saying this is probably a pipe dream, but it’s fun to daydream nonetheless. One thing seems clear is that whatever AU/cursed state is going on in 3×12 is done by 3×13. It looks by 3×13 that everyone might be back in present-day SB since Belle, Archie, Emma, Regina and Granny were all spotted filming at the location designated as SB’s town hall. If so, that means Neal, Charming, Snow and Hook might be back in SB as well, suggesting they have their SB memories back.

Found this on a confession site this morning. Made me think of SwanFire (and Rumbelle). The second Emma got Neal back, she became more decisive, more sure of herself, and more clear in her mission objective. Emma and Henry are Neal’s driving force behind being a better man, making amends, and ensuring that everyone gets a happy ending.

Thank you! *whipping up a whole batch of fresh cookies, just for you* 😀

It’s true that the “second chance” theme could also apply to Neal and Rumple’s relationship, but yeah, like you say, the “second chance” dialogue we’ve had from Neal has been in reference to his desire to have another chance with Emma, (and also to be there for Henry). And like I said in a previous post, the timing of the release of this pic, if it was actually calculated, I think suggests that it’s meant to be in reference to Emma. If it was in part reference to Rumple, it likely would have been released after the ep where Neal left Rumple alone in the jungle, and went off to find Emma. Instead, we got it right after we saw the ep where Neal now believes that hope is lost for him and Emma.

Excellent point. Or it could have been released after 309 but before 310 when PapaStiltskin and Son had their moment

Just a few days to go!
