ParticipantThe Hook/Charming friendship is pretty much made up, in my opinion. The last thing that Charming said to Emma about Hook before this episode was that he just wanted her to be happy, not that he approved of Hook, but that he wanted Emma to be happy. They are not friends. They had moments in this episode, but that was the first time that they had any real moments between the two of them and then right after we found out Hook murdered Charming’s dad.
Nothing is going to come of this that will matter. It might even end up being just about Emma and Hook and not even really about Charming in the end.

THIIIIISSSSSS! I was like “wait, they have electricity?” I swear the writers just aren’t even trying to be consistent anymore
Zelda has electricity. Mostly Termina, but also Hyrule.

This just is not true. I’ve cited examples before but you continue to just either forget about them or ignore them. I will not engage in this again. All I will say is there have been plenty of moments where Hook and Charming have “broed out” before. And Hook has helped Charming before as well. Nightshade comes to mind.

ParticipantNightshade
You mean Dreamshade and well who made Rumple help Charming was Neal, and hook only interest in that episode was getting Emma, even charming say to him that and Hook even threatened him with leaving him there and none would knew, because charming didn`t want hook close to Emma.

It is true though, in my opinion. I am not saying that Charming and Hook haven’t had scenes together. They have and Charming doesn’t want Hook dead, he doesn’t hate him anymore, because Charming is a good person and he wants his daughter to be happy. Having scenes together and helping Charming because it makes him look good to Emma or because he is just a normal part of the group and it is regular human decency to help someone not die when you can, doesn’t mean they are friends. Rumpel helps the group too at times, but they aren’t friends. Just because there are times in the show where Emma finally gets to interact with Regina or Snow and that leaves Charming and Hook out there with no one to go adventure with except one another doesn’t make them friends.
I don’t agree with your examples. I don’t care if you engage or not. I am not going to change my mind about this. The like five random times they have interacted does not mean they are friends. In 604 Charming said “Even as much as i hated that pirate when i first met him, if you’re happy so am i.” That is where Charming was at like a week ago and just a few weeks before that Hook was the dark one and tried to kill everyone.

ParticipantYeah I don’t think Hook and Charming are chummy chummy for any other reason outside of Emma.
I think when you look at the kind of person Charming is (he’s literally the archetypal fairytale prince) and then look at Hook, I don’t think he is someone who is a person charming would prefer for his daughter but is simply lettting Emma do her own thing because she’s an adult. Which is great. Charming wants Emma to be happy.
It doesn’t mean he hates him. It doesn’t mean Hook and Charming can’t be friends. But I don’t think they are as compatible as say Graham and Charming who I think are on similar wavelengths (heh they were both sheriffs) or even Charming and King ArThur. Hook and Charming have to interact regardless of feelings. Hook is Emma’s boyfriend.
But idk. And it really doesn’t matter.
*cough* And yeah, Hook only saved Charming from the nightshade thing because Emma. *cough*

I think this might be the biggest takeaway and it goes back to what is, possibly, the biggest problem with OUAT. All other problems come back to this: too much plot, not enough character. The characters aren’t given room to breathe and interact and develop because of all the PLOT PLOT PLOT. The constant plot, the constant MacGuffins, the constant villains or new-character-of-the-episode forces our characters to constantly be focused on those things instead of any sort of internal or interpersonal work.
For example, this is best scene in the most recent True Love stories like Zades and Ruby Slippers.

Yeah, the hell was this?! I can literally think of five different ways in which they could have written something in that vein without utterly ruining Bae’s character. I think they did this maliciously and on purpose.

The last time I felt like they totally character assassinated him was the night Nealfire died. And once again it was about how Bae/Neal would never recklessly use dark magic.
