Well I think my question was more about how Neal would react to Gideon being wrapped by Black Fairy. I mean, this is a kid who to a whole other realm to escape his Dark One Papa. I think I would have really liked Neal and Gideon interacting and Neal trying to help his little brother understand Rumple because Gideon has some serious Papa issues, lol.

The problem is that Neal sort of flip flopped in how he felt about Rumple once he met him again.  At first, he hated him.  Then he sort of came around.  Then he didn’t trust him again, then came back around again before he died.  So I’m not sure what Neal would tell Gideon.  It would depend on his current mood about his father, which changes mainly bc Rumple flip flops between decent human being to power hungry psycho.  So assuming Neal knew everything that Rumple has done for the past few seasons (taking the DO power back, but not really using it for evil per se and not really seeking out power, at least not since the Olympian Crystal days), I would say that Neal would tell Gideon to trust his father.  And he would shed light on Rumple and explain him to Gideon.  Neal would be a nice bridge for Gideon and Rumple to get along so Rumple could have a better relationship with him than he did with Baelfire.

Im not saying he would not exist, when i saying like he is now, about gideon story, with neal and if the baby would even be a boy, like i said i always saw a RB baby as a girl , even with the name Rose, that would sort of link beauty and the beast story.

I dunno — I would have liked to see a baby girl RB, I think it part because most of the stories we have except for Emma are about fathers and sons. Robyn and Zelena don’t count because there’s literally nothing to that story beyond originally creating drama for Regina.

But I think the reason Gideon is not “Gidiana” is that he has to function as a foil for Emma, and as such I think they felt like he has to be the opposite gender.

I think Neal would have been protective of Gideon — both in the sense of seeking a connection, and being afraid that Gideon would, like Rumple, get corrupted by dark magic. I don’t see G as a replacement though, in part because I can easily imagine him fitting into a story where Neal is present. I think the show needs a foil for Emma, and that’s G’s role — not a nemesis, mind you, but a foil, someone whose story parallels hers, but diverges in important ways. They tried this with Lily, but it didn’t really work, so it makes sense that integrating the foil into the family structure would be needed.

I also think they knew Black Fairy was coming and they didn’t want two women again as the antagonists.  Too similar to the Queens of Darkness perhaps.

    1) Gidiana –LOL

Good point. Though, maybe “trust” Rumple is too far because heck even Belle isn’t sure if she trusts him on any given Sunday. But I think Neal would be a nice bridge, like you said, between the two at least to let Gideon see that there’s more to Rumple than this one thing Gideon sees. I also think Neal would do Gideon a world of good in terms of the Black Fairy. I know Black has Gideon’s heart but Neal knows a thing or two (or three) about living with someone who is dark.

Let´s assume everything is like it is now, not sure how neal would react by seeing Gideon wanting to kill Emma or having Black fairy as grandma after having peter pan as grandpa, but i would say , he would try to help RB saving gideon heart and destroying BF.

The Emma element is an extra level of drama. He’d want to save his little brother, reconcile his brother and papa, but also protect Emma and Henry, I think.

In the end, i think he would try 1st to save Gideon, by saving him, he would also be protecting Emma and Henry, defeat the BF and then only helping Gideon and rumple and at same time helping himself accepting his father with all flaws, especially if he suddenly remember that when he was a kid he actually killed someone and wanted to kill more, that would also be a issue that neal would ahev to deal, and in the process seeing what his father did for him, of course that in true neal essence he would fell guilty about rumple being who he is and maybe in that case maybe gideon could also help Neal with their father, or they could both riot and blame Rumple together for all bad things that even happen to them, LOL.

I always thought if RumBelle’s kid had been a girl that it would’ve been called Rose or Colette after Belle’s mother.

I think Neal would’ve worked well in this arc. At the moment, the “heroes” seem to have an “us and them” approach to RumBelle and Gideon. RumBelle are outside the inner circle so the “heroes” don’t give a toss about them. Neal would be a bridge between the two, he cares about his family (RumBelle and Gideon) but he also cares about Emma and Henry, so he would be torn on which side to take.

All the regulars turning on each other would’ve been a great story with a real moral dilemma. Snowing would obviously take Emma’s side and RumBelle would take Gideon’s side but then you’d get characters caught in the middle. Unfortunately that can’t happen because RumBelle don’t get the screen time needed to make such a storyline work.

Speaking of Screwball Ninja, have you seen the wedding dress analysis yet? I thought it was kind of neat and captures some of the surprise at the choice.

Unfortunately that can’t happen because RumBelle don’t get the screen time needed to make such a storyline work.

And more generally, I’m actually surprised the degree to which both Regina and Rumple, and the overall extended family narrative, has really sort of fallen off by the wayside since S5. It started progressively, but now even Regina and Henry are kind of at the periphery of the main plot. It seems that now the only real family that matters is Snowing, Emma, and Hook — everyone else, even Henry, are largely irrelevant. Rumple, who’s putatively at the center of this season’s drama, get the absolute bare minimum of screen time, it seems. I wonder what this has to do with (as in, is this actors’ other commitments or is this the direction of the show).

Screwball’s essay on the dress combined with Emma’s current arc is really well done.

We know Bobby was rather busy with Trainspotting 2 but I also suspect he asked to be scaled back. He’s just not that into the show anymore, IMO.
