it is really appropriate given everything some of us have said about CS all along, that Emma’s real final episode is about Hook–and not even Real Hook but Wish Hook.
But it’s over. There’s no need for CS to ever be mentioned again on this show. Hook and Emma are gone. Wish Realm Hook is here and he no attachment to Emma or CS. Our long national nightmare is over.

I may have read too much into this, but the whole bit with Henry screwing up, and it resulting in his child being forcibly removed from their mother, reminded me of Neal’s mistakes and Emma having to give up baby Henry. In this ep, when Henry was all, “I’m just a guy who screwed up, and I’m tryna fix it,” it just made me feel some sorta way…kinda like I wanted to burst into tears because he was reminding me of his dad.

Phee I thought the same thing. It seems Henry and Jacida present day has swanfire vibe to them while Henry and Cindy 2.0 have more of Snowing vibe.
Also Henry’s apartment is so Nealish. I love it. I wonder if we are going to ever see a flypaper for nightmares.

Yeah, the apartment is so Nealish. I swear some of that stuff seems like it was in Neal’s apartment. It would be pretty great if he had the dream catcher, but Emma might still have that.
Emma giving up being the savior and Henry’s mom is so OOC as to totally have destroyed any shred of her former self, but then again, the real Emma Swan died a long time ago. While it’s plain as day that clone Hook is a desperate attempt to keep Colin around and his fans happy, at least this Hook isn’t the same as the pirate mascot who followed Emma around. It’s a way to re-set Hook and give him something better to do (hopefully). At least CS is finally gone and over.

The glimpses of SF keychain and all the talk about second chances between Henry and Cinderella were a big callback to Nealfire’s desire to get a second chance with Henry and Emma.

Hi everyone, long time! I’m just kinda lurking at this point, but look! Someone apparently wrote an academic article on SwanQueen and the OUAT fandom. Has anyone else seen it? It made me grin.
How’s the show going so far? Can’t quite bring myself to watch it yet…
@nevermore – Hello! The scholarly article you cited looks interesting. I only gave it a cursory glance. I’ll have to read more later, but it is super interesting how much the Internet has impacted popular culture and the way fans interact with media, showrunners, actors, and each other. The other thing that really hit home was what is “canon” vs. “fanon” and how shipping really impacts the way different groups see things.
How’s the show going so far? Can’t quite bring myself to watch it yet…
7×1 was okay at setting up a “new chapter” but there was a lot of clunky writing. 7×2 had some cute moments with Adult Henry and his new family, but the CS moments were terrible (although thankfully short). It was painful to watch Emma’s final character assassination, but at least CS is totally done, and it should make for a more watchable show. At least the Hook who continues on in S7 has no real connection to Emma Swan, who will never return to our screen if Jennifer Morrison has anything to say about it.
