How’s the show going so far? Can’t quite bring myself to watch it yet

    Welcome back 🙂

I agree with Slurpeez with regards to 701 and 702, though I’d say that 702 was just bad writing apart from a maybe two cute moments.

After trying to hide and suppress the central symbolism of the the SF keychain for so long, it’s rather intriguing that  the keychain has shown up not only in the first episode but also in the second in season seven. That’s two for two. I wonder how many times it’s going to resurface this season. The Swan keychain just screams how vital it once was to Emma’s characterization and her connection to Henry’s father. It nearly brings tears to my eyes how much wasted potential there was yet how much potential there is still for Henry to carry on his own parents’ legacy while being determined not to repeat their mistakes. The keychain is Henry’s symbol now; it was born of true love just like he was.

I really have no sympathy for the writers of this show. They had such an opportunity. They were allowed to lean on the Disney canon and here they had created this interested interwoven plot with the child of Rumpelstiltskin and the child of Snow White meeting and having a child who was then raised by Snow White’s Evil Queen and they just tossed it all away. I have no sympathy for them at all. I have never seen a writer make a bigger mistake then the writers of this show have done. This is why they should have continued to write the story they started.

I really expected to never see it again after 701. Seeing it in 702 was pretty shocking.

It was stupid that it wasn’t with Henry in the last episode. Most people have one key chain that they keep their house key and car key on and they take their keys with them every time they leave their house even if they aren’t taking their car. Especially, if they don’t share the car with anyone else.

Unless Henry doesn’t put it back on his key chain, we should see it again.

I carry my house key separately from my car key, so I found that scene realistic. How did you come to the conclusion that most people keep their house and car keys together?

……..Doesn’t everyone? Is that not a thing? I keep my car keys and house keys together…… Why keep them separate. That’s way too may keychains xD I am genuinely shocked by this development

There might be situations where people don’t. If they are young, if they don’t drive a lot, if they share their car, but most people keep them together, especially people who drive regularly, which Henry does because that is his job.

I’m wondering where you got the data from to make the assertion that you used to justify the harsh criticism of that scene’s writing. If “keys together” is just the way that you prefer to keep them, then I don’t think criticism of that scene is justified.

I’m fine with that. We are talking about car keys here. There is no harsh criticism. The scene is stupid, but it is the least of this episode’s problems and certainly the least of the show’s problems. Most people that drive regularly keep their car keys and their house key on the same key chain. I am not really going to argue about that. I don’t care enough to.
