Can we please talk about that first GIF?
This has got to be one of my very favorite things.
Just look at her face. Think back to The Queen is Dead, “I don’t think forgivness is possible with him (Rumple)” and look how far he’s come…how far PapaStiltskin and Son have come. And now it’s SF’s turn.
Neal knows what sort of man his father really is now.
And Emma is learning that Neal was always a good man.

"Because... it was born out of true love."The point is, I don’t see Neal falling for someone else the way he did Emma and neither does MRJ so it would require a lot of explanation as to how or why Neal would just suddenly swap out Emma for Tink, having just had this second chance at life realization that Emma is the one he loves.

Why show us that Neal loves Emma with enough substance to it to use a magic crystal ball to find her through that feeling, only to say Hah hah, actually he was just infatuated with her and just cares about her a lot?
Yeah the crystal ball is a huge thing in my mind. He uses the power of love to see her. I think that’s pretty significant.
If it is that Bae fell for Tink as a 14 year old boy and she’s been his crush since then and whatever–it just would feel like whiplash to me a bit more so than Hook who’s come off as less-than-genuine to me about his pursuit of Emma.
If anything his crush would have been forgotten after Emma. They said that Emma reminded Neal of Wendy which is why DarlingFire always frightened me a bit.

I agree with all of this. And Wendy was the only one that concerned me as well but now that we know she is still a child and Neal is obviously all grown up, it’s just a family bond between them.

I think it’s the same with Tink. She probably kept him safe, brought him food and helped him survive in the jungle. Or, he did that for her since he arrived first. He did what Wendy did for him, in other words.
But, I cannot stress this enough…he was 14. He was a frozen 14 yr old. There are some lines A and E aren’t going to cross on a 8pm Sunday show on the network run by Walt Disney and watching 14 yr old Baelfire and 25+ yr old (maybe hundred year old) Tinkerbell fall in love in Neverland is one of them. This is not Game of Thrones. There is a huge difference between that ship and a ship like Rumbelle or even CSF. The “young” one in those situations is of age. Belle is about 25 to Rumple’s 45-50. Emma is 28 to Neal and Hook’s 34/35.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Wow it’s funny that after I posted my essay on CaptainFairy (here) There’s a lot of talk that it might actually happen LOL, especially with ABC’s picture of them two together. I’m not gonna lie I want them together really badly. (But not now, Hook needs to straighten up first and apologize) I can predict that they’re gonna insert Tink into the love triangle somewhere down the road turning it into a love rhombus. If you think about it, it’s storytelling 101. They need to keep up with the dramatic tension. You can’t have Hook who is trying to redeem himself not get his happy ending but you can’t get him together with the main heroine Emma so they pair him up with Tink. Emma and Neal (The main hero and heroine) have been conceived since the first season so you can’t get them together too fast that’s why you insert Hook to shake things up a bit, they’ll have their struggles and break-ups and make-ups until they finally get together in the end. Kinda Cliche I know but it’s their journey that keeps me watching.
I’m just sort of thinking a loud. Sorry if I seem to be rambling. I wish that A&E still did the official podcast to explain a bit more about the episode and clarify a few things. There are many instances where a certain scene goes either way but they clear it up and I always agree with the interpretation that THEY give. It’s their story regardless of how others see it.

Oh man do I miss that official podcast. I think having A and E talk to us about some of the scenes we fight over re: CSF would make a world of difference. Right now everyone has headcanon but often times both sides forget that it’s headcanon and remains headcanon until A and E say otherwise or confirm. So you might think Action X = Y but it’s possible that to A and E Action X = Z. But until they tell you that, you are going to be convinced that X = Y.
I’m up in the air about CaptainFairy right now. I was really enthusiastic about it after 303 (and was cheating on Hookriel with it) but after 310 I have shifty eyes at Hook.

Well, that ep we just got was all about the Snowing flashbacks, but present day had some serious SF development. So if anything, I’d say it might bode well for more SF development, if the 314 flashbacks are gonna focus on (at least one of) Emma’s parents again. 😉

She absolutely did IMO. JMo has said that the jacket is sort of like “armour” for Emma, which I think plays rather nicely into the idea that she got it because it reminded her of Neal’s jacket. That jacket would have been a constant reminder of both good emotions and bad. Just like the Bug. Just like the keychain. They’re all symbols of the love she had, and lost, but can’t ever forget.

It’s interesting, I once read a CS post about how the jacket was a symbol of happiness and it was right around the time we were getting spoiler images of 310, Emma in her red jacket. And the correlation was, jacket=happiness=Hook.
But for me, at least, the jacket is, like Phee said, armor It’s more a symbol of what is wrong with Emma, her insecurities being hidden behind a tough outer shell, some impenetrable that no one can breech. It’s her protective shell that comes out when she is scared. And what scared Emma the most to the point where she needed to cover up again? Nothing to do with Hook or anything she might feel for him (in fact the scene directly preceding the jacket wearing one, Emma is basically oblivious to Hook. Her focus is on being home, Henry, Snowing, and Neal). What made her reach for her jacket was Neal, the idea of opening up those wounds again. Because once you start, you’re never going to stop. Once you go down that path (one of many paths as my OTP declared in their own little party scene *insert happy sigh here*) it’s you’re future. And I think that’s really frightening for Emma, that she can have the future she’s always wanted. She can have Tallahassee.
