I have to admit that the Neal and Emma’s scenes tonight were underwhelming. But I do like how Neal was always the optimist to Emma’s pessimist and assures her that he will see them again. Just like Belle is to Rumple.
I still have strong hope that it’s not what it seems. Like others said. Emma may still have memories of her time with Neal but all the fake memories would start when she gave birth to Henry. Neal may know this is the case and have sent Hook in his place because Emma would know Neal as a regular person from our world, and would not believe anything he says or have anything to do with him since he broke her heart. Similar to how she reacted to August. Hook on the other hand would be “strange” enough for her to believe. He has his pirate costume. If Neal showed up like that Emma would think it’s a Halloween costume because she too use to him being in our world.
Also 3×12 promo has a glimpse of Emma looking at Neal’s dreamcatcher. I’m wondering if the curse wiped Storybrooke but none of Neal’s possessions in New York since it’s not a part of Storybrooke, FTL, or near proximity to magic in general. Emma may have to jog her memories with the dreamcatcher! GAH!!!! My feels…
TLK only works if: a) you were in love before you lost your memories b) that person can make you fall in love again c) you were *both* in love at the same time

Belle loved Rumple before, it was inside Lacey just buried under the curse.

It did happen. The only thing that changed was Emma taking Henry. So August still came to Neal and told him about the curse. And the curse “happens” but it’s now like an AU

In this new version of our world, where SB doesn’t exist (though the promo suggests otherwise and there IS some version of it?), the original Curse “never happened”, so in that new “reality”, the reason that Neal left her, no longer exists. Right? So even if Neal did go back to try and convince her now…what could he even tell her? There’s no way he could explain how he let her go because of the Curse and try to get her on side enough to forgive him and be willing to listen to him because he had a good reason for it…if that Curse isn’t even a thing any more.
They’ve torn SF up so comprehensively, it just makes me even more confident that they’ll eventually be reunited. Keep throwing outrageous obstacles in their way. The harder it is, the more rewarding it will be when they finally overcome.

Okay, is the scene in Manhattan the same as the one in the promo? In chat they’re saying it is, but I don’t know.
I do think the reason Hook is there is because Emma would put up her wall and slam the door in Neal’s face. She’d never contemplate anything he said.

This person said what if it was the Darling Brothers? So I got to thinking. What if they were tagging and watching Emma, since they knew about the baby and her life? What if they knew what Emma was doing and thought that was a way to get her away from Neal. What if him or August never made the call? Probably long shot, but it is a interesting crack theory.

I’ve seen in places that Charlie’s Girl was playing when Neal decided to not go after Emma, and playing when Hook came for Emma, and that proves that CS is TL.

Oh, I’ve thought that for ages. I reckon Pan knew the approx time when his great-grandson would be conceived, and sent his minions to split up SF at just the right time, to make the kid easier to get at.

No. but I think they are going to keep him from me for a long time. And when he comes back, he’s lost his powers. And if he’s lost his memories I’ll flip

All we know was that it was a man and Emma assumes it was Neal. But we know it’s not. August maybe but the DBs is a good guess too
