That’s where I have issues too. Emma has all ready lived through so much pain and after they get their memories back in whatever way, that’s going to hit both her and Henry like a ton of bricks and I know I will not be emotionally ready to handle watching that. Hopefully it happens in a way where they can focus more on the year that they’ve spent together, happy and living in NYC and isn’t a made up memory for either of them, and realize that just because that one past wasn’t real, having happiness in their future is absolutely possible now that they’ve both experienced it on some level. Maybe it’s what makes Emma appreciate all the moments in her life like David told her and gives her the hope that she really can have a happy ending too. Maybe that’s what makes her fight for Neal? I don’t know. Three months to speculate…AUGH!!! 🙁
At the risk of being a pessimist, they’ve been known to sweep reactions to false memories under the rug: ie, dealing with it at all in S2. Belle never got to talk about being locked up as a blank slate. The only MM/David Nolan stuff we really got were side jokes about “we were cursed.” I can see them having Emma and Henry remember who they are and then not dealing with the whole “omgosh, our life was a lie!”

But I don’t know if the dreamcatcher alone is enough to trigger her true memories, just as the chipped cup alone was not enough to trigger Belle’s memories in S2. “Lacey” still required the BF’s elixir in the cup to remember she was Belle. But the dreamcatcher could be how Emma discovers Neal sent Hook. Emma holding the dreamcatcher could be like a flash sequence like in 1×22 when Emma held the storybook and believed all the fairytales are actually true. But I don’t know if she’ll actually regain all her memories until she drinks the Blue Fairy’s potion
That’s what I was saying. She would just see a couple of images (I was hoping for Neal images/moments) that make her wonder and trust what Hook is saying and then she drinks the potion and it restores her memories.

p.s. i soooo called the memory moment with emma about her going to the hospital scene and changing her mind BOOM! so take my word again SWANFIRE FTW!!!! aand this curse is like what alot of them hoped they would get… like emma is living with henry getting to see him grow up, snow appears to be close to raising her child… regina seems to find her tl?

Yep! And don’t forget “happy endings being with hope!” And we all know who Snow believes to be Emma’s happy ending: Neal! Snow still believes Emma owes it to herself to do the hard thing, to open herself up to love with Neal, because it’s worth the risk!
