I think if Neal was 100% against magic–all magic–he wouldnt have care about the residents of SB or Emma being the savior. He would have just said that’s the price of magic and gone off to live his life with Emma. But he knows that Emma is special, magical, and he loves her because of who she is not in spite. And magic saved his family too, if Emma hadn’t been the savior and if TLK hadn’t worked, he would never have known his son.

Yes! And Emma’s got her own evolving relationship with magic, too. They can all figure it all out together.
So true Phee, she does! She definitely does not act like having magic is the coolest thing in the world that she has it. The day we were in chat and discovered color, we certainly acted that way. Yet we see Emma is remarkably restrained, almost reluctant about it. Neal’s concerns about magic wouldn’t upset Emma, as she has concerns too.
I was rewatching SSTR, and I realized something about Neal’s attitude about magic from his conversation with Tamara in the Cannery. When she says why she’s doing what she is, she says that he of all people should understand. Yet he doesn’t.
He doesn’t hate magic more than he loves people who have it, like Tamara does.He hates the evil that he’s seen, that comes from Dark Magic and I do think there has been a difference in the show between the two to some extent.

So with yesterday’s pictures of Nealfire with RH and Mulan can I just say how happy I am that Neal is up and alive and so determined to get home that he’d even go to PapaRumple’s Dark Castle to find answers

😆 Yeah, Emma’s not quite that enthusiastic when it comes to magic. I’m thinking she and Neal can find some common ground on the issue.

That vid is so beautifully done. Considering they haven’t even had a massive amount of screen time together, it says something about how strong their story is that every vid made about them tears me apart. Especially if they include the portal scene. Because OMG!
I LOVE that SwanFire video! MsKT has SO many amazing SwanFire videos and I swear I can sit and watch them for hours at a time (which is why I don’t allow myself to get too caught up or else I won’t get anything else done, LOL).
I never have much to add to this thread but I’ve SO enjoyed reading all of it! I love checking to see what other theories and stuff you’ve all come up with and I love all the fantastic comments you guys have made so far. I’m happy to know that I’ll have a fun, safe place to SwanFire gush once the season starts and we get to talk about current stuff again! 😀
