    Shcmacky is wise

Yep. Yep yep. The hardest part of shipping Swanfire is the OUAT fandom in general and the Neal haters. They really bring my shipping mood down.

I notice when I’m away from Tumblr and/or go on my ignore sprees, I’m much more carefree and hopeful for Swanfire.

The thing is, honestly, about Swanfire… if they aren’t going to do anything with Neal and Emma then I find the story of Emma and Neal maybe-sorta-yes-but-no feelings for each other pointless and stupid.

If Emma and Neal aren’t going to get together then what was the point of having Emma still love a man 10+ years later even after thinking he sold her out to the cops? Like… what is the point of that? It’s not good drama if she really doesn’t love him or doesn’t get with him eventually. It’s only good drama if she does.

What was the point of Tamara? Or separating them time and time again? If they aren’t going to do anything with Neal and Emma then they would sort out their issues and be clear of it and move on to a different type of relationship. As co-parents and friends. And if they really wanted to do a love triangle for Emma and Hook then they could have brought in any man … but not in her past.

To me, it’s beyond pointless storytelling to do all this to Neal and Emma for it to end up as “haha jk! They don’t really love one another. Nevermind!”

I like the tension they could have written with Hook, Neal and Rumple–if Hook actually went back for Bae in NL and spent centuries trying to rescue him, and actually agreed to hunt Rumple in a deal to set Bae free.  They COULD have created something like that, which would in large part created a  very conflicted and heroic feel for Hook versus showing us this “well he wasn’t always a pirate, but he was a hard-line naval taskmaster, who lost hope and threw it all a way in a fit of rage” didn’t quite do.”  Hook being motivated not just for revenge, but also because he has no choice or the boy he loved as a son would be (he thinks) recaptured by a demon, now THAT is some serious counter-foil to Rumple.  It would also have helped to sell me on the idea that Hook thinks it is tragic that he feels romantically inclined to the same woman as Neal.  Right now that doesn’t come across very strongly or if at all.[/quote

hi all, yes you’ll usually see me in the CS thread but I like coming here and to the other ship threads for different perspective and to see what others catch that my admitted shipper goggles may have not…anywho – THIS!  Even more than any romantic pairings, this is probably the relationship I ‘ship the most.  I love Bae – I really believe that Hook and Bae’s time in NL is much more complicated than presented to date and that it’s explored and the writers don’t drop the ball on this one.  I have a ridiculously detailed head cannon that I won’t delve into but I just was too excited to see a similar theory I had to post and add a “this”!

    hi all

hi Jenna! Have I welcomed you yet? Gosh I probably haven’t. Welcome! *waves from other ship*

I love Bae – I really believe that Hook and Bae’s time in NL is much more complicated than presented to date and that it’s explored and the writers don’t drop the ball on this one. I agree. I want that backstory, not just told but seen. For me Hook is at his most complicated when he’s interacting with Bae and I want to see more of it. I think all sides agree that the CaptainFire interaction this season was NOT what we wanted. They need to have them do something other that be all “EMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”

I was thinking about a spoiler image from 3×12. Knowing what we do now about the curse, Neal returned to the Enchanted Forest with the Charmings. I was just thinking how distinguished Neal looks in this outfit, almost like a member of the gentry class. Do you think that Charming and Snow appoint him as nobleman? He probably inherited Rumple’s dark castle and fortune. His clothing appears expensive with the fine-woven cape and leather coat, gloves and suede pants. Also, Neal’s royal blue cape is almost suggests an elevation in his status from a peasant boy to a landed gentleman, perhaps even with a title!

My thought is that when they get to the EF Neal is technically alone. He’s lost his father, his son, and the woman he loves. But the Charmings are so full of love that they insist that he is family. Not sure how the curse (or breaking the curse) knows to put him in such swanky duds, but I really do think that the Charmings would want to keep family together, especially after losing Emma and Henry.

GAH. So many feelings about this! I love the idea. Of course they take him in. He’s lost EVERYTHING at this point

Family sticks together. Together hope can be multiplied. Also, I don’t immediately think of Belle as someone Neal would immediately stick with because they honestly spent very little time together, and most of the time he was in Storybrooke before NL she was Lacey, but you never know.

Also, sorry for breaking all the spoiler tags. I can’t seem to get them to work in the quotes, even though I keep trying!

Also, UGH. Things people say that some back to haunt them. I really don’t want to have to start rewatching the show simply to keep tabs on every ominous thing every character has said. It would be like keeping a bingo card of the inevitable. 🙁

    lol. ok.

So what you  have to do is copy and paste the part you want to spoil, instead of using the quote button. Use the “indent” button next to the “I” so that you get a quote, then add spoiler tags around your pasted stuff.

(general note, but I was going to make a big HOW TO DO thread over the winter break)

That GIF set really breaks my heart. The last time his Papa was dying Neal saved him out of obligation, “he’s blood” This time, he’d give anything to have his Papa back.

    I really love Neal
