Keymasterand ended up getting giddy, because it really does seem like their dreamcatcher will be a vital key to the puzzle of her remembering, which leads to the breaking of a curse. The power of SF, working to break a curse, even when they’re apart. The last time we saw Emma in an ep named after NYC, she saw that thing and was stunned, and the next time we see Emma in an ep named after NYC, she’s gonna see that thing and be stunned, and I just really need for it to be March already!
Yes. Emma’s face in Manhattan and now in NYC Serenade is the same: a sort of shocked awe that Neal would keep one of their biggest symbols. I don’t know if the dreamcatcher is what will break her memory curse but I do think it’s going to be the biggest piece of proof that Hook isn’t lying and that seeing it will be what causes Emma to finally drink the potion

ParticipantNo matter what else may happen, Emma and Neal have to deal with their feelings for each other. I truly believe that A and E will not sweep that under the rug. Emma has already admitted that it’s easier to run from Neal than it is to face her feelings for him. At some point you stop doing the easy thing and do the hard one because, hard though it may be, it’s the right thing to do. And even if her intention is to move on from Neal, you cannot move on until you’ve faced the past, a past Emma is having to relearn.
Yep, and recall Mama Snow’s sage advice to her daughter in 3×6. “Emma, I get what you’re doing you know. You don’t want to open yourself up to the hope that’s he’s alive, but you should. Because you deserve a happy ending, Emma, and happy endings always start with hope.” That scene was paralleled to the scene of when Snow gave very similar advice to Ariel about telling Eric she’s a mermaid. “So take my advice. Do the hard thing. Be honest. No secrets. Open your heart to love, because it is so worth the risk. Even if you get hurt, then you’ll know you tried.”

Agreed. The episode Ariel was all about second chances but how sometimes things like fate or Evil Queens get in the way. Doesn’t mean that you stop fighting for them.

Yup! Emma has no home outside of SB, she never has, she just wanders. But the place she ends up just HAPPENS to be the place where she reconnected with Neal? #NotACoincidence

ParticipantI came across this GIF set on Tumblr of Emma’s reluctance to leave her family, even though she knows she has to do so for Henry’s sake.

Now Emma is about to make a self-sacrifice of leaving the parents again, whom she loves, for the sake of her son, whom she also loves. This is parallel to when Neal had to make a self-sacrifice by leaving Emma, whom he loves, for the sake of getting her home to her parents. She just found them, thanks in part to Neal letting her go to fulfill her destiny and in part to Henry coming to find her. Yet, the tragedy of it all is that Emma won’t even remember the reason Neal let her go was so she’d be reunited with her parents. *bawling*

She WILL remember that eventually though! Have faith. I refuse to believe that they’re going to erase that entire part of her history somehow and that all the growth that Emma has had as a character in the last 2.5 years is going to be washed away. She WILL remember what she did and what he did FOR her, and it will be an important realization between her and Neal when they finally get to talk about their past and hope for their future. I will be LIVID if it happens any other way because it would be a total cop out and while they do tend to forget some things, this is something way too big to brush under the couch. Don’t let me down writers!!
It’s not over until the fat lady sings and to quote Will Smith’s character in Independence Day (one of my all time fave movies): “I ain’t heard no fat lady!!!!” 😉
