ParticipantRG I find that post to be very touching. Sometimes we can be far too harsh and judgmental of certain aspects of the show that we forget that other fans other human beings who may relate to that situation may view our statements as hurtful and disheartening. It was like when people were judging Neal for not crying enough or expressing emotion on why they deem as not enough. A few fans spoke out about when they lost a love one they were in such a state of shock that their reaction to the lost was similar to Neal’s but that didn’t mean they were heartless or uncaring.
Here is another pro Swanfire Family photo!

ParticipantObservation from the promo.
My first instinct is to say that they have it broken as a plot device, because that means it can’t work to show memories like the other one did that time, which means she still needs a potion to remember. But I wonder if there’ll be an explanation as to how it broke? Or will it just be a case of she walks into his apartment, which has been uninhabited for a year, so everything looks dusty and uncared for, so the broken string on the dream catcher just adds to the effect of the look of the place? Or is it symbolic of their broken dream? Did it break when Neal got torn away from this world?December 26, 2013 at 10:43 pm #233855RumplesGirl
KeymasterI saw this observation earlier. I hadn’t caught it so it’s nice to get some feedback.
My own very ship-tasttic interpretation is that the dreamcatcher broke the second Emma forgot SB and her life and had it replaced with Regina’s false memories. I think the only way to mend the dreamcatcher is for Emma to remember her life and who she is–the Savior.

ParticipantOoooo, imagine if, when she picks it up, the broken strings snap back into place, and then it comes to life with her forgotten memories. I know we still have the mystery potion that she’s apparently gonna drink and we’ve been thinking that’s a memory potion though, so, hmmmm. Maybe if her magic repairs the dream catcher, it’ll show Neal’s memories, and that whole incident will convince her that the crazy pirate man is actually telling the truth about all the magical stuff, and then the potion is for her own memories? The dream catcher just has to play into the memories somehow, because we’ve seen a dream catcher do that before when it was in Emma’s hands, and the whole point of Hook going to her in NYC is to help her get her memories back.

Before I even had a chance to take a breath, I lost you once more. And all that pain that I had pushed down for all those years, it just came rushing back.
I didn’t know if I could go through it again.

I love this idea!!! i agree that the dream catcher has to play into her memories somehow. There is no reason for Cursed!Emma to go to Neal’s apartment and get it unless it will help with her memory problem and there is no reason for Uncursed!Emma to go there either if her family is in danger. Why the random pit stop, in other words? I think she needs a talisman and the potion, but it will be when she sees the tailsman in Neal’s apartment that her memories come back
