the biggest problem is that it’s not the writing choice. It’s the actors/actresses decision based on what we know from the PA a few days ago. The person playing the part isn’t happy and is leaving. So it doesn’t matter what A and E were intending…the actor wants out so now we get a death.

^^^Can you help me out with this information? I went searching for it but couldn’t find anything and I hadn’t really heard this news. That does make a difference if the actor/actress wants out but I will genuinely be very upset if any of this info pertains to MRJ because he’s seemed quite happy with the show since he got there. They picked him out to play Neal without an audition too which has to be flattering for any actor. I think it will upset me more if it’s him only because we know then that the fandom helped get rid of him (IMO). He gets way too much hate from people that he doesn’t deserve at all. *sigh* I HATE SPOILERS but part of me is glad I won’t be hit like a brick when it does happen because I’ll know it’s coming. This still sucks though.

I’m preparing myself for MRJ.  Like said above, he doesn’t get love from fandom, he’s stopped doing his AskMRJ sessions, and I just have a feeling it’s him.  I’ll be heartbroken.  Truly, but I’m trying to make myself accept he’s gone.  It’s easier that way when it is gone.  I do think, though, that there are two deaths, Happy and another main character. Even gone, it’s not going to make me ship CS.  I have issues with that one that have nothing to do with Neal.  So no matter what happens, I’ll never go over to that side.  I’d rather her stay single with Henry by her side. 😛 Hate to be a Debby Downer, but based on all the data, it has to be MRJ.

I’m sorry. But I do think it’s Neal. I think MRJ is tired of the hatred he gets from fans on Twitter and is leaving for a role that won’t cause this much drama.

I have sympathy for what you’re feeling. I do, but if I allow myself to believe Neal is really dead this time, before we even know for sure, I won’t want to watch it happen. I think you need to take everything the PA said with a grain of salt though. Fortunately, I don’t believe that MRJ is going to leave; he’s been filming the last few episodes. First, we have Snow White’s words that Emma owes it to herself to believe Neal could be alive because happy endings start with hope. Rumple sacrificed himself so that Baelfire could have a chance at happiness, just not with him. Neal’s second chance is with Emma and Henry. Also, he said it wasn’t over and that he’d see them again. It just doesn’t add up that Neal would be the one dying! Everything points in the opposite direction. He and Emma are headed for their happy ending.

Hook, by contrast, has allowed himself to believe he’s a real man of honor and yet, he’s not. His character’s season 3a motto was believe a pirate can be a hero, and what a heroic end it would be if he sacrificed himself for Emma and Neal! Also, today being the anniversary of the episode in which Emma called Hook ‘dead guy of the year’ just seems too significant to ignore or write off as a coincidence! I wonder if Colin signed a 1-year contract, knowing in advance his character was not making it past S3. With the Neverland arc behind us, it doesn’t make sense to keep Hook around anymore. Plus, Colin might want out while he has such a large fan base to launch a big-time acting career in America (similar to how Daniel Stevens wanted to leave “Downton Abby” to pursuer a film career, and it was a big shocker that no one wanted to admit).
