@lisas – To answer your questions from the chat. Yes, I have a lot of hope for SF and believe that Neal will get his second chance. That is his official motto, and on a show based on hope, I believe it’ll come true. Also, Hook’s S3 motto, “believe a pirate can be a hero,” could be completed by making Hook meet a heroic end.

Slurpeez I have a lot of hope for SF & Neal. I believe that he will get his second chance with Emma, Henry & Rumple and I suspect that Hook will do something unselfish by sacrificing his life to heroically save Neal, Emma & Henry from some trap by the WWW thereby redeeming him and making him a hero in their eyes

Lovely SF video. Here’s another pretty thing.

    Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don’t just say
    And nothing else matters.

And suddenly, when his revenge streak was complete (out of the blue), he fixated on the first woman who reminded him somewhat of Milha’s adventurous spirit, and Emma just happens to be the biological mother of Milha’s grandchild. It’s just bizzare. The real caveat, however, is that Emma is not anything like Milha, because she would never abandon Henry the way that Milha abandoned Baelfire, and deep down, Hook knows it.

This is so obvious to me, how they’ve written Milah and Emma to be polar opposites in regards to their children. It was probably Milah who went to Killian and begged him to take her away from her husband and child. Emma has insisted that her child is her first choice, always, not negotiable, she’s not giving him up for anyone now. Hook’s not used to dealing with women who want to remain committed to their family. He does have the capacity to understand having commitment to family, because look at how tight he was with his brother. But he’s experienced so much of the opposite with all the other men’s wives over the years since, and then Milah, that I don’t think he can quite wrap his head around where Emma’s coming from, and he has unrealistic expectations that she’s gonna be like the women who came before. Which she most definitely is not.

I fail at quoting spoilers, so this was from Laurel…
I don’t care what anyone says, I don’t want Hook to die. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for CSers to believe. But if anything, it just makes sense. And to give him that honor that he’s desperately wanted his entire longggg long life, well, I’d probably cry my eyes out for days after that ep. It’s the epitome of what this show is all about.

    My response…
THIS! Do I WANT Hook to die? No, I don’t want ANYONE to die. Do I want Hook to achieve some legit redemption, for the sake of him being a fully formed character with a believable story arc where he finally finds a way back to the good form he was so proud of back in the day? Yes! Do I want him to die to achieve that? No, of course it’d be preferable that they found another way to tell his redemption arc. But do I think it would be an effective way for them to show it? Yes.

Back when he was fresh faced Killian, he was a dedicated Navy man. People who pride themselves on their military service do their job with the full knowledge that they’re putting their life on the line every single day. Their ship was getting fired on in Good Form, and Killian was the first to order the crew to come around and face the oncoming battle, knowing full well that he could die in the process. They were outnumbered 3 ships to 1. As a pirate, we’ve seen him pick on those far weaker than himself, challenging a cripple to a swordfight and giving him a rusty blade. I believe that more than anything, he’d love to regain his lost honour, have the Navy man who was willing to bravely put his life on the line rise to the fore again. Throwing himself into a situation where he knows there are good odds of him dying, but doing it for the sake of protecting others, would be him reclaiming his lost sense of honour and bravery.

I don’t want him to die, I want him to be the man he longs to be, and I believe that it would be a massive step towards that for his character to put his life on the line in order to protect others. It would be a way he could be truly proud of himself for the first time in centuries. Dying sucks, but the Navy man would consider it an honourable and worthwhile death, and something to be proud of, and I want him to regain that sense of self for his own sake.

Going back to what slurpeez said with the stuff about surviving. He’s been a good survivor because for a long time now, he’s looked out for #1. Acting like that hasn’t exactly brought him much happiness or satisfaction. If he’s gonna be a better man, he’s gotta stop looking out for #1, even if, as I suspect, it will involve risking and giving his life in the process.

Saw this parallel between SF and “The Notebook” on Tumblr:

She disliked him to start with..

    they fell in love…

    first loves…

    They fight..

    they hurt..they go separate paths….

    they find new love…

it hurts to see them with new love…

    one nearly marries,

they find their way back years later….and fight

    they are true love

I love this parallel 🙂 This quote could also work great with Neal and Emma, “They didn’t agree on much. In fact, they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time, and they challenged each other every day. But despite their differences, they had one important thing in common. They were crazy about each other.”

Now that Adam has confirmed that the actor leaving because of unhappiness rumour is untrue, and that the death is purely story-driven, I think storywise, it makes more sense for the death to either be Hook or Henry.

Alos, Screwball brought this up, but was it confirmed that Colin had moved his family to Vancouver because apearently

In June he said he had no intentions to move his family, not knowing where he would be career-wise in a couple of years.

    Does anyone know?

Well, Helen’s been in tweeted pics from cast outings, and it’s sort of a no brainer that she and baby Evan would be in Vancouver with Colin, (his dog was also in a pic he tweeted back when they were starting to shoot this season). As to whether or not they’ve actually “moved” there, as in, actually bought a house, I have no idea. Sean recently tweeted about looking for an apartment to rent, so I’d guess that the O’Donoghues probably rent an apartment there too, (seems like the most sensible option, considering that they don’t shoot 12 months a year, so a short term lease somewhere would be more likely)?

PS. PoM, that post of yours needs spoiler tags. 😉
