I think Mulan possibly did go through the same thing, though if you read Screwball Ninja’s essays, there is one where she thinks Mulan maybe fell in love with Aurora. If so, it really puts their comparison to dismissing Neal and Mulan more definitively than SQ in an interesting light.

Neal left London at 8:15. Henry was born at 8:15. Emma arrived in Storybrooke at 8:15. She broke the curse at 8:15.
And people are trying to tell me that Emma and Neal aren’t in the process of this grand epic love story?
Yeah. Right.

September 30, 2013 at 8:39 am #213053RumplesGirlKeymasterThere’s a bit more of a wrinkle to their story that we’ll delve into in Episode 3.
What????

We’ll find out something that leads us to NL, and I think maybe one of the lost ones is RH”s kid. I don’t think his daughter was Tamara, since we didn’t get any backstory for her.
It is possible they filmed more for her, but a new character in Pan’s camp could set up Robin Hood wanting to go with Neal. That would be a wrinkle.
Or maybe they have to go through SB first too.

September 30, 2013 at 9:50 am #213069RumplesGirlKeymasterI think getting to NL isn’t going to be easy but I think RH has ties to Wonderland we know he does, actually but let’s leave the illusion, yes? and that he might be able to employ the White Rabbit with the hat to dig a portal for Neal.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"September 30, 2013 at 9:59 am #213071SlurpeezParticipantDid you read what the press has to say after 3×1 aired? Neal will officially make his way back to Emma! From Yahoo News: WILL NEAL FIND A WAY TO RETURN TO EMMA? | “Come **** or high water” – and presumably with the help of Robin Hood, Mulan et al – “Neal is going to get back to Neverland,” Kitsis attests. But first, Horowitz warns, “There’s a bit more of a wrinkle to their story that we’ll delve into in Episode 3.”
I can’t help but think that the word “wrinkle” could be a clue. Has anyone read the science-fiction novel “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle? I haven’t, but the word “wrinkle in time” is a popular culture reference to this book, ad that is the first that popped into my head. Here is a brief synopsis of that book.
A Wrinkle in Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high-school-aged girl who is transported on an adventure through time and space with her younger brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin O’Keefe to rescue her father, a gifted scientist, from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet….The plot begins with the arrival of Mrs. Whatsit at the Murry house on a dark and stormy evening. Although she looks like an eccentric tramp, she is actually a celestial creature with the ability to read Meg’s thoughts. She startles Meg’s mother by reassuring her of the existence of a tesseract–a sort of “wrinkle” in space and time. It is through this wrinkle that Meg and her companions will travel through the fifth dimension in search of Mr. Murry.
This sort of sounds like Robin Hood and Neal could be doing some traveling through space and time themselves. Also, the book is about a family separated by mysterious circumstances, which is similar to my theory that Robin Hood was separated from Marian and his child, who might’ve been Tamara.

Kinda wish we could confirm if MRJ is at least briefly appearing on WL.

September 30, 2013 at 11:36 pm #213197heatherc1275ParticipantI haven’t read that book in forever but I loved A Wrinkle in Time and I can totally see them doing something like that with Neal and his journey. I also like getting a little confirmation that Neal will make his way to Neverland at some point which I think we all assumed but confirmation is always good! 🙂
I didn’t see this posted here and I don’t want you guys to miss it but MRJ is doing an #AskMRJ Q&A this Sunday at 2 PM PST. He was supposed to be part of the live tweeting during the premiere but missed it due to flight problems getting home from Michigan. That’s very sweet of him to do that and I’ll definitely be chiming in with a few questions! 😀
