Participanthowever, the “maybe next year with Hook and Belle makes me extremely nervous. *sigh* I kinda hate all the mixed messages
Honestly, what else are they going to say? They can’t let on if anyone is staying or leaving the show so the standard answer to those types of questions is always going to be “maybe next season” or “not this year” since that’d be a dead giveaway. If someone had asked something about Neal that wasn’t going to be answered this season then A&E probably would’ve given the same standard reply of “maybe one day.” Also, with regards to Hook’s work for PP, I keep thinking they might be setting the stage for a NL spin-off; A&E have said point-blank that we won’t be revisiting NL in S3b but are they honestly going to revisit in S4 well after the storyline has moved on? That seems unlikely to me, so it seems like there really could be a new NL spin-off in the works.

KeymasterI know. I know. I know. I’m just so tired of having it shoved in my face that the evidence IS mounting

I remain unconvinced. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. The people who want to see CS happen will make a way bigger deal out of everything becasue it fits their own vision of what they’d like to see happen. Yet is it really a victory of CS if Neal were to kick the bucket? What kind of resolution is that? Seems like a hollow victory to me. I don’t want to see Hook die just so that Neal and Emma can have a second chance; rather, I actually think the storyline could entail Hook meeting his end. I’ve thought so for a long time, before I ever really started to ship SF.

ParticipantJust a friendly reminder about Neal and Emma’s official character descriptions:
Emma Swan
Magic came to Storybrooke, and with it a whole new set of dangers, but Emma Swan, “The Savior,” is ready to defend the people she cares about. For a time, Emma and Mary Margaret were trapped in what was left of The Enchanted Forest, but with the help of Mulan and Aurora, they returned to Storybrooke. Unfortunately, so did Regina’s mother, Cora. After Cora was stopped, Emma resumed her post as the town Sheriff and tried to get back to her life with Henry, but the arrival of her former flame and Henry’s father, Neal, complicated things. But just as Emma figured out that she was still in love with Neal, he was shot and lost into a void and Henry was kidnapped and taken to Neverland. [x]
Neal Cassidy
Many years later, Baelfire escaped to our world and took the name Neal Cassidy. As a young man, he turned to a life of crime, and while sleeping in a stolen car, met Emma Swan. The two fell in love while committing a string of thefts across the country. They were about to settle down together when August Booth, the grown man who was once Pinocchio, convinced Neal to abandon Emma so that one day she could become The Savior and break The Dark Curse. What Neal didn’t know was that she was carrying their unborn child. Years later, Emma helped Mr. Gold track down his son and was shocked to discover that Neal and Rumplestiltskin’s son, Baelfire, were the one and the same. Neal was shocked to learn that Henry was his son. He later traveled to Storybrooke with his fiancé, Tamara, to reconnect with his family. What he didn’t know was that Tamara was an unknowing agent of Peter Pan out to destroy Storybrooke. She shot Neal and sent him through another void, with Emma confessing her love to him just before seemingly losing him forever. Now he is wounded and trapped back in The Enchanted Forest, once again separated from the family he so desperately wants to have. [x]
This isn’t over. They’ll see each other again.

ParticipantAlso a friendly reminder that Rumple sacrificed himself to give his son that second chance at happiness, just not with him, and Neal still has yet to get it:

ParticipantI interpret the evidence as mounting toward Hook’s untimely demise. I admit extreme bias, yet some of the most recent tweets from Adam suggest an attempt to reinterpret Hook’s relatioship with Emma. Hook has not been stated to be a love interest for Emma? That feels a little different than has been previously suggested by A&E. And why do that now if it’s not a weak, doomed to fail, attempt to temper expectations. I believe that mind games are being played and that MRJ is intentionally being kept under wraps. The online community will assume that Neal dies and then, shock, Neal lives.

ParticipantIf Neal were to die who tells the Regals that Regina can’t enjoy her new romance because she has to comfort her mourning son?
Neal = hope. The death of Neal would be the death of hope. Neal will live.
