Nice job!
"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy
Very nice!
Thank you for making something so “Talahassee” for our little Swanfires hearts.
Heros don't get their Happy Ending!
Great vid, Lisa. 🙂
I’m not questioning Neal’s love for Emma or anything like that, I’m merely wondering why the writers even bothered to create her and Greg (and their affair for that matter) if it amounted to nothing since their both dead?
You may not question Neal’s love for Emma because of the existence of FianceeTamara, but many people do, (“He can’t truly love Emma if he moved on and fell in love with Tamara,” is a very common argument for the opposing side in the ship debate). I think Tamara was there because they needed an obstacle to stop SF from hashing out their emo stuff right off the bat. If they’d already been able to be open and honest with each other, they couldn’t have written the dramatic, “I love you”s over the portal, and couldn’t be writing potential triangle angst right now. They wanna draw out the resolution of SF’s true feelings for each other for maximum drama and “will they, won’t they”, and him being engaged to Tamara was an effective roadblock.
I like the song.
About Neal & Tamara–it was genuine on his part in the sense he was not using her for a green card or a rent controlled apartment. It was not genuine in the sense that the person he thought he could love enough to finally after 10 years try to move on from Emma did not actually exist. The writers made sure to show us enough about Tamara to realize she was fanatical, resourceful, and a skilled liar, who could seem genuine even when she was totally faking it. Then they went the extra step and made sure we knew she had no real affection for Neal beyond a mild sympathy, because that ring was coming off, as she told Greg, soon as that mission was over.
I hope the writers keep the romance on hold for awhile because I really don’t like the idea of raw and vulnerable Emma, stripped down by Pan’s mindgames, grief and loss, fear for Henry, lack of sleep and food, falling in love with anyone right now. I feel she has to reclaim her identity as the savior, as a kicking bails bonds/sheriff person, as Henry’s mother and Snow and Charming’s daughter/friend, and as someone with a whole lot of true love magic pouring out of her. Once she’s “Emma again” instead of this little lost girl, thrown off by the magic of NL and the circumstances, then I’d find a storyline more romantic. I feel like Pan’s toying with everyone there, the moment they set foot in his domain so no one is really “themselves” or even knows what that means right now.

WORD to all of that, KFC!

AGREED. It would to be totally reactionary on Emma’s part.
Another common line of thought in the ship debate is that Emma and Neal can’t be together because they aren’t the same people anymore. But I don’t think that’s true and in fact I think NL is only going to reinforce that in many ways they are still the same people from “Tallahassee.” In 302 Emma realizes that being in NL makes her realize that she feels like she always has felt. Neal coming back (hopefully) will have him confront his past and realize that he’s still a lost boy. Lost Boy. Lost Girl. Looking for the son they created together in true love. I think it will show that they have grown up a bit but they are still the two wide eyed dreams who wanted a home.
I’m very much a lurker because thats just how I roll but I just wanted to say how refreshing it was to see a Neal/Swanfire friendly forum.
Absolutely! Ship and let ship, even if that ship is no ship. That’s our motto.
(PS: welcome to the fun!)
Once I unlurked, it was like a floodgate opened ! Welcome to the conversation Ashley!
