A few days ago I said I’d be a monkey’s uncle if Walsh turned out to be a flying monkey, yet low and behold, that seems to be exactly where this is going. Knowing that may be the case, I guess anything is possible. Maybe you’re onto something after all that Walsh and Neal swap forms. We’ve seen a man become a rat (Smee) and a mouse become a man (Gus-Gus). We know that Cora could impersonate other people like Lancelot and Regina. We even saw Peter Pan and Henry swap bodies. So there could be some merit to this idea.

ParticipantIt would explain why Neal couldn’t be at Emma’s door. The EF stuff happens in the year before we see Hook turn up at Emma’s door. So Neal could’ve been turned monkey say 6 months into the year and lo and behold Emma met Walsh 6 months before Hook turns up at her door.

ParticipantI guess I’m the lone person who really doesn’t want Neal to be a monkey, LOL 😉 I also have a t-word issue with some of these things because of the 3×15 spoiler info where Jen and MRJ were filming together. How could that be if he’s a monkey or being held prisoner at that time? There’s something we’re missing and I just can’t figure out what it might be. I’m going to wait and see how things turn out but it wouldn’t surprise me if a few parts of Phee’s theory end up coming true somehow. I want a SwanFire TLK darn it!!

ParticipantLove the headcanons.
Darn I had a thought and it left me, darn little fish come back from the sea of subconscious to the puddle of consciousness. YES the little fish came back
okay all this talk about a captured Neal harkens to Wonderland where the Genie was captured for some period of time. I have not yet watch the series beyond the pilot though.

ParticipantIn PaTF, the bad guy Dr. Facillier cannot maintain the illusion spell without fresh blood so he needs to keep Naveen alive. I could see something similar here with why she’d kidnap rather than kill Neal but it is a bit of plot-armor but certainly no worse than we’ve seen before in this show why some characters do not kill others. Anyway, I think Wicked would send Walsh to keep Emma busy, and to try to entrap her in a sleeping curse of some sort so she could never die to break the curse, nor use TLK to break it either. So her eventual goal with Emma is to lure her to town to trap her. Hook shows up though and disrupts the WWW’s plans by bringing Emma to town early. From there, I am not sure at all what happens. I think the Wicked has Rumple’s dagger up her sleeve, and it is a big shock when he appears. I’m completely confused though why Walsh would reappear unless he’s a monkey double-agent perhaps, because he’s working with the Wicked only to help free HIS true love Rapunzel or something like that. Maybe he’s not originally a monkey either but it is a curse he’s suffereing and they transfer it to Neal. I have no idea. Weird show is weird.

You’re not alone, Heather, because I don’t want Neal to be a monkey either! However, I must admit, if Walsh is a monkey-turned-man then I could see the writers doing something so wonky as to turn a man into a flying monkey. However, that idea doesn’t make me happy, not to mention it would make Neal a laughing stock and people who already dislike Neal would point and jeer. Not exactly my idea of a knight-in-shining armor either. Poor Neal if that is what happens! 🙁

ParticipantI don’t think we’ll see Neal turned into a WM. I think one transformation from WM to man is enough. Now, Scarecrow or Tin Man? Maybe. 😉

KeymasterI guess that it’s not that I want Neal to be a flying monkey…but it would make sense when I start asking, “where is Neal?”

Ditto.
Maybe they’re actually Monkees?
