Just saw 3×12 sneak peek. IMO, if Neal was transported to NYC to convince Emma to take the potion that would restore her memories from the past three years, Emma would completely shut down to any of his pleas and explanations. Emma’s last memory of Neal was his betrayal:( With such intense feelings swimming around her wounded heart, Emma would have him arrested. Not good for Neal, considering his criminal past. Entrusting Hook with the task of convincing Emma of her true heritage was the logical choice.

I can’t wait for the moment when Emma remembers……and what events will spur her to rescue the people she’s come to realize she loves……Neal and her parents.
