Keymaster*SF feels* indeed! This was a nice little pick me up after the ABC thing.

ParticipantI think it is odd that someone asked Adam and he did not consider what he was saying.
So this picture of the cast messing around, seems to have some clues in it, like Charming clutching an arrow as if he’s dying. Neal is holding up that coconut.
Notice how awkwardly they posed Tink. She has one arm on Emma and one on Neal. She is not main cast, and so far, we have not seen her interact with Neal. Yet what we do know of Tink is that she has that pixie dust that shows you your soul mate. We don’t know how that works, because they say you can love again, but only one at a time. Does it show you who currently is, or who might be, or who would be if you would chose that person? It seems like the pose implies some connection through Tink between Emma and Neal. It’s just such an awkward way to have her in the group, crouching like that with her arms tapping to those two that way.

I LOVE this connection! YES, I’m completley on board with this line of thinking!

Yes, SwanFIRE is “almost home!” Or as Papa Rumple would say, their true love is “like a flicker of light amidst an ocean of darkness.”

ParticipantVery crack pot, I could not even directly claim any conclusion even on a ship thread! I just noticed where they posed her, that is all. 🙂

ParticipantSo don’t know if you guys watched Once Upon a Time in Wonderland last night but there was a great line about how “if you really love someone you never move on.” Now I *know* both sides of the triangle are going to use this line for their purposes but for me, personally, it gave me Emma/SwanFire feels.
I also noticed that line while watching WL. I mentioned in the chat how that line gave me SF feels and a CS fan was quick to disagree with me. (No big surprise there). Anyway, while Adam did tweet that not all first love is true love, we SF fans realize the flip statement is also true. Sometimes first love IS true love. This concept has already has been shown with Snow White and Charming. Now, it’s been shown with Alice and Cyrus. As far as we know, they are each other’s first love and that love has lasted.
As for SF, I think RG gave good pieces of evidence to show they haven’t yet moved on from each other, even after 11 years. Emma and Neal even said they loved each a second time while he was hanging over a portal. CS fans try to downplay this as a statement of affection that a person merely says to comfort someone who is dying rather than an outfight declaration of love. “Emma loves Neal but she’s not IN love with Neal.” Obviously, I think otherwise, but that is the way CSers rationalize Emma’s spoken words of love to Neal. Personally, I think that even people who are wrong for each other can fall IN love, but people who really love each other work hard to make it last. It’s like the difference between fleeting romantic feelings and lasting true love.
Now that Emma is seen kissing Hook, CSers are making out that it’s not only a spontaneous of-the-moment kiss but is really an unspoken declarationon-of-love type kiss. Yet, Jennifer Morrison clearly said,
“In that adrenaline, she realises that this person has participated and made it possible,” Morrison says of the lip-lock. “It’s a very human moment.”
Time will tell if Emma really has moved on from Neal so quickly (it’s only been a few days) or whether she’s simply acting out her attraction for Hook while believing her true love to be dead. Maybe Emma is simply seeking solace in the arms of the nearest attractive man? Colin O’Donoghue said,
“There’s not that many single people in the group on the quest, so maybe that’s what it is,” he says. “Emma’s not really going to go for her dad, you know what I mean?”
(x)
Also, it’s interesting that Jennifer Morrison hinted that the key to Emma’s affections is Henry, for whom Emma has true maternal love.
But all Emma’s focused on right now is finding her son, Morrison says, and she’ll show her loyalty – and perhaps more affection – to anyone who helps her get him back.
While Hook is showing himself to be very helpful in Emma’s quest to get Henry back, no man has a greater personal interest in saving Henry than his father, Neal, does. So while Emma obviously appreciates Hook’s aid, he’s not the only man willing and able to fight for Henry. Both Hook and Neal have an insider’s knowledge of the island, but Neal has the clear advantage in having been a lost boy and spent time with PP inside his camp. While I don’t think Emma would base her opinion on which man to give her heart to based solely on who helps her the most in rescuing Henry, I think Neal being Henry’s daddy gives him an edge over Hook. Also, I think Hook’s motivations for wanting to save Henry aren’t merely driven by his attraction for Emma. He wants to honor Baelfire’s and probably Milha’s legacy by helping save their descendant, Henry.
So, while I think people CAN move on from first love (let’s take Robin Hood or Regina as a potential example of second love), we know that several couples on Once are good cases of when first love becomes true love. I’m rooting for Neal and Emma’s second chance, since it would stink if they have true love but never got to know for sure all because of the dark curse. Also, while no couple should stay together solely for a child’s benefit, I think Henry’s version of happy ending is also Neal and Emma’s idea of a happy ending, all living together as a family unit in a home called Tallahassee.
ETA: I noticed a potential SF/Snowing parallel during my re-watch of 3×3. Snow White said to Charming:
“When I was a bandit living alone, all I wanted was a home. The thing is I never found it until you came along. Even now when I’m with you, that’s all I need.”
Now we know that Emma was like a bandit and that she found a home with Neal in the yellow bug. Emma didn’t NEED a house with a picket fence so long as she had Neal, just like Snow can find a home camping out in the woods so long as she has David. Plus, we know from the 3×4 sneak peek that Emma says “home” exactly like she did while thinking of Neal in 2×6. *SF/Snowing feels*

ParticipantI had another thought actually, watching the Knave with Silvermist. Knave, that’s the stereotypical guy thing right, a physical night of fun, and it isn’t about love? Emma is flipping the gender stereotypes, and has been from the start of the show. She’s TOLD us she has had 1 night stands. She didn’t judge MM for doing that. She drinks whiskey. She’s a bailbonds woman. She’s been in jail. She was a pregnant teenager. She is not some princess who has “virtue” to protect–she owns her sexuality. We haven’t seen so much of that, but look at her in the first season and what she wears. She may not be as over the top as the Samantha gal from Sex and the City, but Emma is like the Knave I think. She has a history of physical relationships that do not go with emotional ones.
I know that is the last thing CSers want to hear. I agree that, for “Killian” he’s from a different mindset, and he is not thinking of himself as being her “Mr. Right Now” instead of “Mr. Right.” The thought has struck me though, depending on the context of the scene and whether or not he’s told her certain things, and they know certain things about each other before it happens: They are both reverting to their pasts.
Her past was a female Knave of sorts, she probably broke some hearts with how closed off she was. Hook on the other hand for all his flirting, we know he feel hard for Milah. They’ve told us and I expect we’ll see in 305, that he never really seriously got over her with anyone else (apparently Colin said in an interview he’s been celibate, so not sure of much action with Tink). Yet this is even harsher, isn’t it?
Emma breaks his heart, not because she’s choosing Neal (and I think it would take much time to get those two there)–but because she is a modern woman who doesn’t mind some fun in Vegas.
It would reverse the trope of what people feared about Hook with all his flirtations and attitude.
