I love that MRJ refers to himself in the first person when speaking about Neal and Neal’s motivations! MRJ obviously sympathsizes with Neal and his tough lot in life and is rooting for him to reunite with his family, including Emma! Go Neal go! 😀
He really gets into Nealfire’s head. I love that about him. My favorite interview was the one he did with OUAF about Neal after “Tallahassee” MRJ really gets Neal.

Not like this is news to us, but was great to have it confirmed, even if JMo went and BROKE MY HEART in the process of revealing it!!
So here is a heavily SF interpretation of what is to come next. (To reduce having to spoil it all out Imma just keep calling it “the thing”)
We all know Emma does the thing. We’re prepared for the thing. But now after seeing this episode there is so much more context. Like it’s a moment of desperation because she really did just say out loud that Neal’s DEAD and that she has always loved him but it was too late for their reunion cause then Tamara went and shot him. So the thing happens in a very human moment of needing someone and something to lean on. It may spark something in her, I don’t know. But for the moment I think it’s a reaction to what she just said outloud, the first time she’s ever said she loves Neal to someone OTHER than Neal.

So many SwanFire feels from this episode. Oh, Emma finally spewed out what she was feeling about Neal. I flailed, I twitched, water seeped from my eyes. It was heartbreaking.

YES. THIS. Also, That meta that Phee posted a page back pretty much does a far superior job of explaining my thoughts on the upcoming CS kiss. But I think Emma is reeling over her grief still, as evidenced by her emotional confession to her parents. She feels so jipped that she never got to have Neal even though they always loved each other, and Jennifer Morrison recently tweeted how Hook reminds her of Neal. And Emma probably feels like Hook is the only one who understands what’s she going through, since Hook loved Bae too like a son. And Emma is human, and in a moment of ecstasy at perhaps having won a skirmish against PP is overcome by passion. Right now, Emma sees Hook as reliable, and a source of strength which she’s depending on to help her rescue Henry, the product of her and Neal’s love. So, after Emma’s confession of love about Neal, more than ever I believe Emma kissing Hook isn’t a sign of her moving on, but is a spur-of-the moment victory kiss.
