I love how some have said that because Emma calls Nealfire Neal, that she never really knew who he truly was. Yet in this episode he said multiple times that he wanted to be called Neal (to both Pan and his father), which to me shows that she did really know him
I was thinking the exact same thing every time Neal reminded people that he’s “Neal” and not Bae.

It would feel like whiplash. Also I felt like Hook’s evasiveness about how he cut a deal with Pan, as well as exactly how he knew Bae make me wonder to what extent Hook is going to reveal certain things before the thing.

A SF tweet from MRJ:
*Believe that we’ll see that swan pendant again! *
Even though this is in regards to Neal an Rumple, second chances could also apply to Emma.

October 21, 2013 at 9:01 am #217658RumplesGirlKeymasterNeal getting himself untied reminded me of Emma getting herself untied in Hatrick. Wonder if he taught her that as well. As with Henry and Neal aiming for Peter Pan with the arrow. Emma’s breakdown just tore me out. Very Swanfire/Captainfire/BaelfireRumple heavy. Does the latter have a fanship name?
Yeah how much did Emma learn from Nealfire? (who in turn apparently learned it from PP)
I call them PapaStiltskin and Son.

Also, I’m posting this amazing scene here, because Emma has never stopped loving Neal!

October 21, 2013 at 10:21 am #217680RumplesGirlKeymasterThis is a really random question but do we know the story of the hoop circle necklace Emma wears? Cause it reminds me of Regina and Daniel’s ring/necklace. Also hoops/circles are a symbol of eternal love. Thought I’d ask here first.

Excellent point!

I believe JMo picked it and it has something to do with swans that are owned by the Queen having rings around their necks?
October 21, 2013 at 10:35 am #217687PheeParticipantSwan Upping is an annual ceremonial and practical activity in Britain in which mute swans on the River Thames are rounded up, caught, marked, and then released.
Traditionally, the British Monarch retains the right to ownership of all unmarked mute swans in open water, but only exercises ownership on certain stretches of the River Thames and its surrounding tributaries. This dates from the 12th century, during which time swans were a common food source for royalty. Swan Upping is a means of establishing a swan census and today also serves to check the health of swans. Under a Royal Charter of the 15th century, the Vintners’ Company and the Dyers’ Company, two Livery Companies of the City of London, are entitled to share in the Sovereign’s ownership. They conduct the census through a process of ringing the swan’s feet, but the swans are no longer eaten.
Swan Upping occurs annually during the third week of July. During the ceremony, the Queen’s, the Vintners’, and the Dyers’ Swan Uppers row up the river in skiffs. Swans caught by the Queen’s Swan Uppers under the direction of the Swan Marker are unmarked, except for a ring linked to the database of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO). Those caught by the Dyers’ and Vintners are identified as theirs by means of a further ring on the other leg. Today, only swans with cygnets are caught and ringed. This gives a yearly snapshot as to how well Thames swans are breeding. Originally, rather than being ringed, the swans would be marked on the bill, a practice reflected in the pub name The Swan with Two Necks, a corruption of “The Swan with Two Nicks”.

Yes he did get rolled in the end, but at least Peter did not kill him. I hope Neal does not see the THING but if he does that he is not too angry to be understanding, to realize how hurt, lost and lonely Emma has been, to remember how charming Hook can be and as well how less than forthcoming. This is what gives me the nerves for SF–it is not that Hook will be so compelling to Emma. It is like in tennis how you can default and lose the game on your serve to even an unworthy opponent, let alone one who offers a challenge. I hope Neal’s shock and anger at both Hook and Emma does not drive him to forget how much he loves Emma, how much pain she suffered, how he too tried to move on when he thought the door closed–but most importantly the words of wisdom from Yodathat there is no try. He never moved on and he will have to believe she has not either despite how it might appear (and be aggressively asserted on Tumblr) that she has because she is trying.
