I think it’s because even when we don’t *see* that person, there are always “oh they’re shooting indoors in studio” from the people that are there. the fact that no one has had any wind of MRJ at all is what is troubling people (like me) I guess. Emilie is rarely seen as well, but then she’ll pop up suddenly and say that she is in studio.

Are the people who are reporting this news actually looking for or asking about him? Consider the sources. None of them, as far as I can tell anyway, have been all that interested in finding out about him in the past so why would they do that now? Remember that most of them are trying to get hits on their websites or get attention because they’re freaky stalker fans….LOL 😉

Emma & Neal continue figuring how to smoke out her objectives in SB while Emma tries to figure out who she can actually trust in SB with her secret about Neal’s status as well as figuring out a way to get him home. I may have overthought things with this but it would make a whole lot of sense with some things that we all ready know and some things that have been speculated about upcoming episodes

Heather headcanon accepted and I’ll take it one step further below. Plus I’ll give an additional theory

Going on Heather’s theory for 3×15 & 3×16 we know because of the filming pics that Henry and Hook have scenes in 3×15 & 3×16 and that there is confrontation between Zelena & everyone in Storybrooke and that she has Rumple’s Dark One Dagger which means that she can control him. I think Regina, Rumple are not the only people that Zelena wants revenge on I believe her wanting revenge may extend to other key characters in SB like Snow, David,Emma,Neal,Henry,Robin Hood,Roland,Hook,The Dwarves,The Merry Men.
Getting back back to 3×15 & 3×16 if we accept Heather’s theory regarding Belle, Neal, Zelena, Hook, Emma. Then let’s apply it to the filming pics of Henry & Hook as well as the night time shoot of the confrontation. I propose that if Neal & Emma planned this staged funeral for 3×16, I’m thinking it’s very possible that Neal and Emma could have come to the conclusion that Zelena may view Henry as a potential target for Zelena because of his connection to Regina, so Neal fearing for his son’s safety tells Emma to have Hook along with Ariel’s help in order to cross realms bring Henry to him in the Enchanted Forest where their son will be safe with him. Which Emma agrees to before the confrontation in the middle of town with Zelena and the controlled Rumplestilitskin. I think something will happen to prevent Hook & Henry’s journey and that could be how we meet Blackbeard in 317. Since we know by the set reports for 321 that Emma is in EF Clothes I’m going to go out on a limb and say that in 320 Zelena kidnaps Snow while she is in labor and they portal out of Storybrooke to the EF. I’m betting Neal is stuck in the EF. I think in 320 towards the end in David, Emma, etc find a way to portal to get to the EF in order to save Snow, The baby and Neal from Zelena. I’m guessing there wil be some kind confrontation in 322 between EF inhabitants and Zelena and her forces in OZ. I suspect Henry will also play a big part in 322. I thinking the wedding will be in the season finale it will either be Rumble & Belle’s or Emma & Neal or Ariel & Eric. I believe they will all be stuck in the EF for Season 4

Okay since I’m facing possible surgery and it’s a dark dismal day here I was needing a happy thought and I came up with this while in chat while we were discussing theories and the 2 hour season finale and where Season 4 will be at. So I have a challenge for anyone who is good at fan art I think this idea would make a very nice pretty picture for the thread.

We know Neal(MRJ) already looks Smoking HOT in those EF Leathers. I can just picture Emma in EF clothes similar to Snow’s with the coloring of Charming’s Reds & Brown’s with some fur. Then add in Henry wearing something of cross between a 14 year old Baelfire & Prince Charming

Anyone up to the challenge ?

I don’t want to speculate too much based on unofficial sources or put words into actor’s mouth. I only go by the STORY shown already. As of right now, it doesn’t make a lick of sense with Neal dying. A&E have had their share of crap ups over smaller plot points but overall I tend to agree with what they’ve interpret in the show. (*sigh* I wish the podcast was back. Every point they made, I totally agreed with last season) I would think that Neal would be featured more prominently before kicking the bucket to try and wrap up all the loose ends that have been built up over the course of 2 seasons.
Neal dying would also contradict what they’ve been trying to show us all season long. Second chances and Happy Endings.
Rumple -“I cast the curse to find you Bae. To make sure you had a chance at happiness. And that happiness is possible, just not with me.”
Robin – “We all get second chances”
Either A&E are big hypocrites or there’s a behind the scenes issues involving the actor. Either way I don’t buy it just yet. People thought Robert was still in Scotland during the filming of 3×13 and yet he was there behind closed doors. He also could have done shots later, separate from the cast for his celler scene with Zelena. Everyone was surprised to see him in spoiler pics for 3×14 or 3×15? And automatically assume Robert just came back from holiday to shoot. I never saw any pap photos of him at the airport. So there were no hints of him shooting earlier. I can also see that being the case for MRJ. So no picture of corpse = no death for me.

 

OT from OUAT: I also want to give an example from another show I watch, Person of Interest. Warning I’ll put it in spoilers, in case anyone doesn’t watch or want to be spoiled.
Person of Interest had the best handling of the death episode ever. It totally left everyone’s jaw dropping in a satisfying way. There are 5 main cast members. Reese, Carter, Finch, Fusco, and Shaw. Leading up to the death episode they had promos hinting a character will die and strongly implying it might be Fusco (who is thought to be a fan favorite but still expendable) Reese, Carter, and Finch were considered to be the “Untouchables” During the episode they also had a fake out scene where it’s implied that Fusco was fatally shot. But towards the end, we find he’s alive and saved by Shaw. Carter and Reese were on a mission to stop HR (criminal organization). They succeeded, bad guys are put away. You would think it was just a normal procedural episode with a happy ending. But then last 5 minutes of the show, Bang! Carter gets fatally shot by an HR rouge who escaped. She dies at the end, which leaves everyone mourning.

 

Now there were three things that they did that would’ve have been signs pointing at her death without giving away the whole shebang.

1. The last 3-4 episodes featured her story-arc heavily, stopping HR and their corruption which was her primary goal since the very beginning of the show. It was all neatly resolved by the end of the episode.

2. They actually toyed with protagonist Reese and Carter having actual feelings for one another beyond friendship by sharing a kiss on screen. Reese/Carter have been a fanon in the fandom, up until now, since they’ve shown some flirtation but never went too far besides friendly banter. To actually see them kiss was a pleasant surprise though odd… Also given that they were in a near death situation it was as if they were saying goodbye, and giving the audience what they’ve been longing for.

3. There was a lot of misdirection. Promos, reports, and even the actual episode itself, hinted that Fusco might be the one to kick the bucket. When they really pulled a fast one and had it be Carter. Not sure if A&E has the smarts to pull this off, but I’d be pleasantly surprised if they do.

Back to OUAT:

So if we’re basing off a story, I’ve not see any sort of central arc focusing heavily on Neal, quite the contrary. They seem to be holding back his story. It’s doesn’t seem like any of the upcoming episodes from the title spoilers even remotely revolves around him, unless I see otherwise in upcoming episodes. It would be a waste if you have the actor contracted to film for the rest of the season and don’t utilize him before he’s gone for good.

 

Like I said before a characters death should serve a purpose. Either gives a full conclusion to the character’s arc. Or help propel the story and other characters. It’s doesn’t seemed likely that they can wrap up Neal’s arc…and we got an inkling of what his death was like the first time around. Emma was emotionally broken, and Rumple went suicidal, that not even Belle can give him a reason to live. So I don’t see how in any way it would propel their characters forward. If anything it regress their characters and sucked away any development that they’ve had in the past episodes. It also doesn’t propel the plot into a new territory that I can see. It was already explored in 3A

Hey guys! I decided to come out of my delurker mode. I’ve almost caught up on this thread, over 800 pages! Thats awesome! A massive thank you for the lovely comments about my last video, I’m really overwhelmed! 😀

So I guess the big question right now is where’s Neal? ( I hope I’ve done the spoiler tags correctly)

All these rumors and paps reports coming from the set have been driving crazy! It still baffles me how someone can say they are almost certain the ‘death’ is in 3×16 and then in the next sentence say they haven’t seen it being filmed.  I can understand why everyone is jumping to conclusions (myself included) and I have found myself feeling down over the lack of MRJ sightings. But when I think about it logically, from the story perspective nothing about these rumors add up.  We are two episodes into 3B and we are still none the wiser to what the writers have planned for Neal.  All we know is he’s missing in Storybrooke.

I was expecting to see him and Belle off on their adventure to save Rumple by now or at least has some kind of context to why he wasn’t at Emma’s door in New York. However we only know he traveled with the group to Regina’s castle.

Frustrating as it is, I think the writers are setting up his arc in 3B to be a very slow burn.  It wouldn’t surprise me if they continue to make us guess where Neal is for a few more episodes. Narratively it makes no sense to build up Neal’s disappearance like they are now, only to have him reppear to be killed immediately in 3×16.

[/spoiler]I personally think Neal is captured somewhere (possibly Oz) or under a different type of curse from the everyone else. I think he won’t make an appearance until the finale.  I still truly believe Neal will see Emma and Henry again! And we are going to see him fight like hell for his second chance. I agree utterly with lunatiger. It just doesn’t make sense.

Actually, I’ve been wondering lately if they really will pull a fast one. The title of the penultimate episode, “Snow Drifts,” made me worry about Snow. But after consideration, I truly wonder if Charming might not be in more danger.

Maybe Snow is in grave danger. (Frankly, I think the WW wants a child and is going to go after her and the baby.) I could see Charming going out in a heroic act to save Snow, the baby, his daughter Emma, his grandson and/or even his daughter’s true love, Neal. (Especially since we’ve been seeing in spoilers for the next episode that the WW just might have something against Charming as well. And maybe even Neal.) It would give Snow a hell of a storyline next season. And it would give Emma a further reason to acknowledge that sometimes you need to step up and say “I love you” to the person you care about, especially when you never know how much time you will have with that person. Heart-wrenching, oh yes. But a death that MEANS something.

And I think that Charming, if he knew it was going to save his family, would consider his happily ever after well spent.
