Do you guys think Hook knew that Rumple and Neal were in the same body (which is still so weird for me to type)? Those hospital scenes just flashed into my head and I remember how odd and out of place they felt for me. He really does know more than he’s letting on with everyone. Maybe Hook wasn’t calling Neal the villain…maybe he was actually calling Rumple the villain because he knew they were one and the same even if Neal didn’t know it at that time. When Neal jumped up to try to go to Emma to help find his father, maybe that’s when Hook actually saw Neal as Neal again and that’s why he hugged him. He knew what was coming for him and he wasn’t going to keep Neal from finding out the truth and spending that time with Emma. I’m honestly annoyed now if Hook knows all this information and has been keeping it away from everyone else. I don’t know why I’m trying to make sense out of any of those scenes from last night (seriously, the heck with that crappy writing) but that’s one that popped into my head as feeling very WTH-ish to me on my initial viewing.
FWIW: Barbara Barnett’s review is up and she actually thinks Neal is going to be brought back in the finale by them defeating Zelena and breaking this new curse. She was surprisingly not affected by Neal’s death because she’s so adamant that something else is going on. I don’t know what to make of that but I thought it was worth mentioning here.
I am way too tired to function at work and all the insane emotions on top of that are making me a royal mess today. 😥

I think Hook knows everything. But he’s been keeping it a secret because he didn’t want the pain and drama. I’ll decide how I feel about THAT later.
FWIW: Barbara Barnett’s review is up and she actually thinks Neal is going to be brought back in the finale by them defeating Zelena and breaking this new curse. As infuriating as the silence is, the longer it goes on, the more it makes me suspect shenanigans. You don’t kill off a main character on your TV show and not attempt to get media mileage out of it, that’s just ridiculous. If an interview DOES come out, then I’ll change my tune, but as of right now, I’m not buying it.

What Emma and Neal had was none other that True Love. TRUE LOVE, the most powerful magic of all! Maybe there is hope after all. You’d think that as the Savior and as True Love incarnate Emma could have done more for Neal and actually you know, saved him, her own true love!
Is this Emma’s curse though? Was she right that this is the price of her magic? Always to lose Neal? Never to get what she dared dream she could have? Must she look for Tallahassee with someone else? That is just like settling for second best. Will said it best about Anastasia. “Once you find true love, you can never move on.” Yes, the pain lessens and you can learn to love again, but we already have a couple who embody that: Regina and Robin. We don’t need Emma and Hook to be Outlaw Queen 2.0.
What we had with Neal and Emma was a unique story about how two people who love each other, yet who experienced so much pain, could ever possibly come together again. Those were the words A&E used almost a year ago to describe SwanFire. Yet, it seems like the answer to that hypothetical situation is nope, there’s no hope of reconciliation, or of even hoping for a second chance. Emma said she wished Neal hadn’t survived in 3×6 because it would have been easier to put it behind her than to go through all that pain again. While I maintain that it would have been good for Emma’s character grown and Neal’s to face that again, they never even got the chance. Now before Emma could even catch her breath, she lost Neal again. I can understand now more fully why Emma chose to put up a wall. It seems like Emma’s destiny constantly to lose Neal, her true love, her hope at a happy ending, her dream of Tallahassee. Neal wished her happiness and made her promise to keep looking for home, just not with him. I hope she finds it; I really do. I just don’t think it’s ever going to be Emma’s first choice and I feel like her growth is now going to be stunted because she and Neal never even got a chance just to talk. What the hell, writers? It feels like settling.

If he did know then there are only 2 people who could have told him: Zelena or Belle. I guess maybe 3 if you count Lumiere. But he left everyone and didn’t go back, so I’d rule Belle out. Assuming he was off looking for and sailing on his ship, we can rule Lumiere out because he was landlocked. Which only leaves Zelena, and I haven’t been on board with that theory because why would she send Walsh to keep Emma away and also Hook with a memory potion to bring her back? Hook is obviously hiding SOMETHING, and you’re right, it could lend some context explanation to the CF scene if he was in the know…but I just dunno.
