ParticipantSad day for Neal fans. š
Both Neal and MRJ deserved better. I don’t believe for a minute the death is plot driven. He was the main reason for the curse and everything that followed in the first place, Rumpel’s son, Henry’s father, Emma’s love interest…no story left to tell for him? Yeah, right! There are billion of other characters on the show they could have killed and who have far less significance to the story. They “revived” Blue and Archie but Neal they just kill off easily. The saddest thing is that they didn’t even bother to write the episode, and he pretty much died for no reason what so ever. If he simply died after because he brought Rumpel back that would make some sense, but he just died because they needed the WW’s name. Completely pointless! Are you really telling me they couldn’t have found some loophole and separated them while keeping Neal alive? And poor Rumpel, when I saw him how he came back in that cell…. š Ā He saw his son die after everything he did to find him and even worse he died because of him. Too much…..

ParticipantUnless the real reason is MRJ wanting out and ABC is trying keep that hush hush.
MRJ’s a professional. If he’s contractually obligated to give a final interview, then he’d give it, and because he’s a decent guy, he’d keep it as diplomatic as possible if that were the case. He’s not a vindictive type of person, so there’s no reason I could imagine ABC putting a gag order on him.

Emma’s true love magic can do everything, but not that. Magic can do much…but dead is dead. Unless reasons…

ParticipantYup. Everything writtenĀ here is pretty much what I’ve been thinking. Except I’m not angry about other people getting their second chances. I’m just sad and upset Neal never got his second chance.

Keymaster*sigh*
Adam vanished. He saw one tweet that demanded he come to Twitter, answered it and then left again.

“We never found Tallahasee.”
I maintain tat they could’ve been happy again. All they had to do to find Tallahasee was look in one another’s eyes. Home.

ParticipantSF really did have a couple of lovely moments in this ep. Sucks that those moments are completely overshadowed and seem worthless.

It did. Look at her genuine smile!! Look how happy and easy they were together in the woods. And then it was all worthless: go find Tallahassee with someone else.

That’s exactly what I think. So much wasted potential. It could have been a beautiful, meaningful sacrifice that came about at the end of the season. After Neal helped his son to remember. After he and Emma got a chance to talk so she developed as a character. After Neal had gotten his affairs in order. This was just a completely gratuitous death.

KeymasterI refuse to step foot outside this thread today.
We never found Tallahassee–because they were never given a chance. Magical plot reasons.
God. I’m so…..I don’t even know
