KeymasterDear Fandom
Getting over a death as easily as you are shoulnd’t be a thing. If the death mattered, if the life mattered, then you don’t get over it in less than 24 hours

AND NOW PEOPLE ARE TELLING ME HOW I SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT BE COPING WITH THE DEATH OF MY FATHER? THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE HOPE TO LIVE ON. I AM SO MUCH RAGE RIGHT NOWOk, what? Is that happening here on this forum? Or out in the wilds of social media?
Yes here on the forum. In chat. That I need to live on and move on. I am…I can’t. And the callous nature this has taken is just horrifying.
That is just downright wrong! No way you ever “get over” the loss of your parent. Tell me if it happens again and I will say something on your behalf (should you so wish). I keep saying I’m going to leave but I cannot let go of my fellow fire thieves, especially not during a time of intolerance and misunderstanding.
RG – Even though we don’t know each other outside of this forum, I feel as if I’ve gotten to know you more through our conversations about SF. Don’t let the lousy plot developments or the show’s unsympathetic viewers knock you down. In reality, the kinds of qualities you possess, like a good heart, an intelligent mind, and an ability of relating well to others in a positive, sincere and meaningful way are what count. You have turned out so well, despite the challenges you’ve faced. I don’t want to offer you platitudes. Life doesn’t always go as we plan, it’s true. Just take one day at a time. I just went for a walk in a beautiful park on a nice sunny day. And you know what? I already feel better. Maybe try reading a good book that you know ends well. It’s like coming home to an old friend. 🙂

ParticipantIt bothers me hugely that Adam on Twitter seems to think this whole reaction is sort of funny. (See recent tweets.)
Dude, at least respect and understand that you hurt people profoundly with this “storytelling decision.” (And I wouldn’t consider myself hurt profoundly, just immensely disillusioned.)

ParticipantI’m glad that Adam finds all of this so very funny. Last I checked having fans was what allowed him to have a job but you know making light of them, yea that’ll help you keep them.
"We were happy."

KeymasterBut apparently continuing the cycle of abandonment is totally ok

ParticipantSome people use humour as a coping mechanism in situations where they feel uncomfortable. I don’t think Adam means any ill intent with that tweet, he’s just trying to lighten the mood, even if it probably isn’t the most appropriate time to use humour.
All magic comes with a price!
