And I think that what she really needs is to grow up and start dealing with the problems like an adult rather than constantly run away from them.
She was confronted with the real proof in the last episode- Pin’s wooden leg. It didn’t help.I actually understand Emma not believing. I mean, for the most part, this is all pretty crazy. I wouldn’t believe this BS either. 😆 But when she couldn’t even see August’s wooden leg, that’s when I became frustrated. I can understand her not believing after seeing the other evidence prior to this episode. That evidence for the most part was very weak. But the fact that she couldn’t even SEE the leg was what made me concerned. 🙁 The writers are making it quite clear that Emma’s lack of belief is actually beginning to cloud her vision. So, even when real proof is presented to her, she may not even be able to see it. But the good news is that next week looks very promising, and I think she’s on the path of believing. 😉

She chose not to see it. That’s a difference. She was looking at it and saw what she wanted to see. She might do the same when confronted with the real proof unless she changes her attitude.
Henry was telling her from the beginning about Sb being a place where all Fairy Tale characters ended up and now August who was not even a local but someone who just showed up one day saying the same thing is not enough for Emma. First, Henry is in under counsel of Dr. Hopper which Regina who is his adopted mother sent him to. Hopper does not quite believe in this himself. August to Emma is just some random stranger who just showed up and agreeing with Henry. She has only known the both of them about the same amount of time give or take a few days…..one cannot expect to believe in such an crazy story like this in that short amount of time. I don’t care how much proof there is. If anyone is to actually believe in UFO’s one has to be beamed up. Just seeing strange lights and hearing stories isn’t enough. Well Emma is in a similiar situation as the UFO skeptics.
For me it’s not that important whether she believes or not. I mean it’s important for the plot, but for me with this character the real problem lies somewhere else.
I would like to finally see her behave like a grown-up 28-year-old woman, who has a child, is fighting to get full custody of her son and preparing to become a full-time mum. I would like her to be able to face her problems, take responsibility for her actions and make rational, well-thought decisions.
In the scene with August I’m not sure I expected her to believe, even though the proof was right in front of her eyes. What I expected from her was to hear him out with an open mind and give some thought to what he said instead of running away in panic.
Hopefully she will rise to the challenge next time.
