ParticipantI was thinking about Emma’s baby blanket and how there were theories that if Snow saw the blanket, she might remember Emma (since when David saw the windmill, he remembered the fake memory, but he also seemed to have a bit of a connection to Emma’s baby mobile)…
Then in the show notes… they suggested that perhaps the memory will only be sparked if it is the person’s item (i.e. the blanket is Emma’s)….
SOOOOOO, what I was wondering is…
What is Grannie saw the baby blanket?
*bear with me, I’ve never heard this detail noted on any of the blogs or in the podcasts*
In the pilot, when there is the roundtable discussion and we see Jiminy advising them and others… we also see Red Riding Hood and we see Grannie knitting a white blanket, which, I’ve decided from the beginning was Emma’s baby blanket (it looks like exactly the same wool, and cuz like, Grannie is the only “grandma” type character in the entire show)…
So, what if Grannie saw the baby blanket? Would it spark different memories with her? Not only because she was the original owner – but also because she made it in love for this beloved baby? (Also, the roundtable discussion was before they knew about sending Emma [or then, Snow preggers with Emma], so it’s not like Grannie would have even known she was making the only item Emma would ever have of her previous time in fairy tale land).
Just lots of thoughts!

ParticipantOh oops. I was originally going to post a completely unrelated goof I noticed in this episode, but realized it was a spoiler, so I am going to figure out where I can post it and post it there 🙂

ParticipantTell us where you end up posting it then… Youv’e got me all curious about it now 😀
However you can post spoilers here directly. Just put them under a spoiler bar, its one of the options above the box you write your posts in.Baby blanket and Granny- hmm could be, guess we won’t know till she picks the blanket up.

ParticipantWhen they show the newspaper article and it talks about the seven year old boy, it says “a local boy discovers a newborn wrapped in a blanket on the roadside”. So… that just doesn't exactly go along with what August told her about what happened later – so I am just wondering if the props department didn't have the necessary info… or if they didn't want to give it away… but August wasn't a “local boy” right – he was also abandoned to the state, and ended up staying with Emma because that is what Geppetto promised he would do back in FTL, right? So, I don't know if it is a goof or they just didn't want to ruin it right then and there…. but that is definitely not accurate, right?
PS – Is that what ends up being blacked out on the forums, what is put under spoiler? I’m still new… and if yes, then how do you read what is blacked out if you want to?
Thanks 🙂

ParticipantYou click on it or click on “[reveal]”.
And you didn’t have to black that out since that scene was from last season which has obviously already been aired.
Just because he isn’t technically from that area and was also an orphan doesn’t mean he’s not local. The paper would use “local” boy even if he was a lost kid himself. But also, the prop department probably didn’t know that the boy was August when they first showed that news article (episode 2 maybe?).

ParticipantOh, I thought we couldn’t post later spoilers in this forum (in case people who haven’t seen the episode yet (i.e. from other countries) are coming in here to talk? All good…
But I mean, he was abandoned too – so shouldn’t it really read something like “abandoned seven year old found with newborn baby” or something? Unless he told them a different story when he was discovered like “oh, I had run away from my parents and then I found this baby” – but then wouldn’t they have not been able to find his parents either – because he also didn’t have any?
And I am sure that they didn’t exactly know… However, in an interview at Comic Con 2011, Jennifer was talking about how she already knows the whole story of Henry’s dad, which we don’t even really know yet (like we know the story from Tallahassee (sp?) but we do not know WHO Henry’s dad is… and in the interview, Jen sounded like she definitely knew who it was already… so I feel like Eddie and Adam probably knew this… maybe they just wanted to lead us astray, haha. BUT the podcast here about this episode (I think it was Jeremy who guessed) guessed right on from this episode that the little boy was someone else from Fairy tale land and that he could come and go from Storybrooke i.e. August). Just awesome!
