Ok, just watched thus episode again, and I remember how when August woke up the date said October 24, 2011, and if you look back at the pilot the moment Emma grabbed the key which started the clock it was a day after her birthday. She turned 28 then on October 23, 2011, so Emma was then born on October 23, 1983.

Is Phuket 12 hours ahead or 12 hours behind Maine?

Ahead. The further east you go before crossing the international date line, the further in time you go.

Emma would have been born on October 22 then.

    October 22
Emma wishes we wasn’t alone on her birthday. Henry turns up.
Emma takes Henry back to Storybrooke and drinks Regina’s apple cider then crashes into sign.
    Emma spends night in cell.

    October 23
Emma has to find missing Henry.
8:15 pm Emma rents a room at Granny’s.

    October 24
8:15 am August’s leg turns to wood.

Perhaps in season 3 they will show Emma celebrating her birthday with her family as well as a Thanksgiving dinner.

Out of interest, do you think Rumple celebrates Thanksgiving? He has a scottish accent (Robert Carlyle’s natural accent) which most definitely implies Mr Gold is Scottish and Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated in the UK.

    Her birthday is the 22nd.

Emma had her birthday on the 22nd, brought Henry back that night, spent the night in jail.

On the 23rd she helped look for Henry, brought him back, and stayed at Granny’s. 8:15pm on the 23rd she decided to stay and the clock moved.

    12 hours ahead, it’s 8:15am October 24th in Thailand.

    Emma’s bday is Oct 22, 1983

Which makes sense because in Welcome to Storybrooke the newspaper article in the morning said Oct 23 but we know the curse arrived in our world during nightfall the night prior. Emma and Pinocchio arrived in our world during daylight hours prior to the curse hitting. They arrived on Oct 22 and she was just an hour old at that point.

In the episode before this one, 2×17 Welcome to Storybrooke you can see the date “Sunday October 23, 1983” on the newspaper someone (think it’s Geppetto) is reading at the diner, when Regina gets her first breakfast in the new world there (at minute 6:15) Headline of the newspaper fits to actual events of that time, including a picture of then President of the US, Ronald Reagan. 😎

edit: You beat me to it, Schmacky.

The pilot debuted on Oct 23, 2011 so that lines up.

Only bad part is they appear to have skipped her birthday on the show and I mean…really? The series, especially the pilot, revolved around this woman’s birth…and not even a mention? Snow get’s a whole episode dedicated to her birthday, and according to spoilers for Lacey Henry gets a birthday, though I'm assuming it's a belated party because I don't think he could be twelve yet, and I counted the candles on his cake. Only eleven.

SO WHY NO BABY EMMA GET A BIRTHDAY?!

That’s right b/c I just re-watched that clip from Manhattan when Henry meets his dad, and he screams “Eleven!”

It could be that we haven’t reached Emma’s birthday yet. We don’t know what month it is in the show.

Perhaps Emma’s birthday was missed because Emma and Snow were stuck in FTL and they had more important things to worry about like trying to get back to Storybrooke before Cora?

Also, do we know if Storybrooke events line up with our time. For example, Broken starts off where Land without magic ends. In our time there was several months between the two episodes but no time at all in Storybrooke time. Perhaps Emma’s birthday hasn’t been celebrated because it isn’t Emma’s birthday yet?

The Doctor was the halloween episode. Was it halloween in Storybrooke at the time of that episode?

obisgirl- we’ve theorised Emma’s birthday is in October because that is when the series started and that is when the curse was cast according to Welcome to Storybrooke.
