Emma’s basic plan for the Underworld is as follows:
–Find Hook
–Take heart from chest
–Split heart
–Give Hook half of heart
–Leave Underworld
There are some glaring problems but one problem that hasn’t been brought up yet: Emma’s heart cannot be taken. This was proven in 209 “Queen of Hearts” in one of the best moments of the show.
Did Emma forget that her heart cannot be taken? Does she think that she can take it herself? Is her heart now removable because of being a former Dark One?

This is my least favorite option. I’d rather “Emma can pull her own heart” loophole than suggesting that darkness can tarnish true love and True Love Incarnate’s Heart

The bigger issue is that Hook’s corpse is in Storybrooke. When Snow split her heart to revive Charming, all she had to do was have Regina split it and insert it into his corpse. The one possible workaround is that Emma gives her half the heart in the Underworld, and then his corpse wakes up in Storybrooke, which would be weird. But still, why would the trip to the Underworld be necessary?

Because: Continuity? What’s that?

So that will probably mean something of value has to be left behind in hell. (Which is totally not the same thing, but hey.) 🙄
So best guess: they find Hook’s soul, take out his heart (even though it’s not a physical one), crush it or leave it in hell, and give him half of Emma’s. And then he can just walk out of there, somehow totally reconstituted.
Even though he is buried in Storybrook.
I know, that makes no sense whatsoever, but it’s basically how the show works now.

Hook needs a new body anyway; his original body has that severed vein that can’t be healed.
On a serious note, though, I think Emma could use her heart as a container to carry Hook’s soul, like with Pan’s shadow and the coconut. Just long enough to smuggle his soul out of the underworld and reinstall it. It would be the reverse of the all too common rip-heart-out trick which has long since lost its dramatic impact.

December 10, 2015 at 6:50 am #314101PriceofMagicParticipantWouldn’t Hook wake up in his coffin in Storybrooke if Emma did that? Yet another thing copied from Buffy.
They won’t get rid of Colin so Hook keeps his body.
They’ve absolutely butchered Emma’s character beyond recognition. In fact they’ve butchered all the main characters. Wouldn’t it be funny if when contracts come up for renewal, everyone turns around and says no?

Actually, though, how is that going to work? Is the wound magically healed because “death”
