Since you hate the idea so much, may I ask why you think it’s true now? If anything, the new info has made me have doubts about Bae and Henry’s dad being the same guy…
[adrotate group="5"]July 19, 2012 at 2:30 am #152232hjbauParticipantIt is just because they seem to think it is so important who the father is, it is so relevant to the story. It is not a random guy. It is someone that is integral to the story they have already started telling otherwise they would speak about it differently. And the fact that Jennifer knew way back when, before the Pilot, means to me that he is a character that is ingrained in this story and so the only choice, the only choice, is Bae. There is no one else that he can be, in my opinion.
July 19, 2012 at 2:55 am #152233lilredParticipantJennifer knew that far back? I really need to keep up with things…
July 19, 2012 at 3:05 am #152234hjbauParticipantYeah, she did. She talked about knowing in the interview at one of these things like way back when right after only the Pilot had been aired. I just don’t see them going any other way. Though like i said i don’t like it, so i would so be glad if i was wrong. But honestly who else could it be?
July 19, 2012 at 4:18 am #152237elleParticipantThat might not necessarily mean Baelfire. When August first showed, everyone had different theories as to who he might be–the majority were Baelfire, and the writers seemed to tease that for the viewers until the last moment when it was revealed that he wasn’t. The same could be said in this instance. And also, the writers mentioned that Emma’s foster parents would appear in an episode. They aren’t going to be of huge importance to the plot–probably for Emma’s character, to learn more about her past. The father of Henry could be the same use, just for the audiance to learn more about Emma.
This is a series that deals with magic, but the odds just seem too much. If they were to go in that direction and make it that Baelfire was Henry’s father, it would have to be explained fully, as to how the savior would meet the son of Rumpelstiltskin. It would be understandable if Henry’s father were an important character, but how Baelfire and Emma would meet just seems too perfect–all the characters being nicely connected because they happy to be in love with one person.
And also, I don’t like the idea of Rumpelstiltskin being Henry’s grandfather. I do like his character and all, but I just have a feeling that he would be try to be controlling.
July 19, 2012 at 4:22 am #152238midnight drearyParticipant^I’m pretty sure most people knew August was Pinocchio. I just think a lot of people wanted him to be Baelfire instead. 😉 So, no one was really shocked.
Personally, my side theory is that Baelfire is Oz. I actually really like the theory of Bae being Henry’s father, but if he isn’t, I’d love for him to be Oz.
July 19, 2012 at 5:49 am #152241hjbauParticipantOh i hate the idea of Rumpel being Henry’s grandfather. I hate it with a passion. But for now i think it is true.
Also i actually thought that they said they weren’t going to show Emma’s foster parents?
July 19, 2012 at 1:48 pm #152253elleParticipantThere were a good amount of people that did think August was Balefire–some of them are kinda in denial. 😆
I don’t like the idea of Rumpelstiltskin being Henry’s grandfather, either. I really do like him as a character and all, but I just don’t want him having anymore cause to hang around Emma, nor do I think she will appreciate it. He already has prescence in her life seeing as how she is the savior and he made the curse, not to mention she still owes him a favor.
They did mention we would see more of Emma’s past as a child, and that her foster would appear–don’t think they will have a big role. Just to give more about Emma’s past.
July 19, 2012 at 3:11 pm #152256a chipped cupParticipantI actually really the idea of Baelfire being Henry’s father. To me, the inspiration for the curse meeting and falling in love with the person who was destined to break the curse makes total sense. They’re both intimately conencted the curse, they’re both from Fairytale land, they’re both parentless, and they both probably ended up in foster care. They already have a ton in common. The groundwork is already there.
And I agree, Midnight Dreary. Most people already knew that August was Pinocchio. That’s why there were so many side theories out there. People didn’t want to believe that he was actually Pinocchio, so people started coming up with side theories. That’s when the all the Bae, Oz and Robin Hood theories started popping up.
July 19, 2012 at 3:16 pm #152257eternalflameParticipantVery interesting theories in this thread. Here’s what I’m almost positive of.
1. Bae is either Henry’s father or Emma’s true love.
2. Bae landed in either Arizona or Boston
3. If Bae is in fact Henry’s father, then that makes Henry pretty powerful. He’ll be the son of two very powerful people who are connected to the curse.
4. Whatever Henry’s father did to gain Emma’s ire, it was either really bad, or they were both involved and there’s probably enough blame to go around.
5. Uh…that’s it. 😆I’m with you A Chipped Cup and Midnight Dreary, I really like theory of Bae being Henry’s father. It would answer quite a few questions about Henry. If Henry is indeed the child of both Emma and Bae, it would explain why he’s able to detect the curse. Maybe being the child of the two people who are directly connected to the curse makes him immune to its effects.
