True about the Curse weakening because of her presence, but because it was her presence that caused that, I still see it as something magical within her that sparked to life and made stuff happen, even though she was unaware of it. The power lines sparked the first moment she got out of the Bug and actually set foot in SB. The ground shook when she put on the Sheriff badge. Graham remembered when he kissed her. She didn’t have control over any of that, but something within her was still causing change around her. She didn’t kiss Henry intending for the kiss to wake him up and break the Curse. She didn’t touch Regina’s arm intending to make the hat work. She had no idea Cora wouldn’t be able to take her heart. But she still unconsciously made it all happen, because she just oozes magic, because it’s an inherent part of her.
I never thought of it quite like that before, all the little things adding up to that. That’s my question answered. Thanks! 🙂

No worries. 🙂 Makes you wonder just how powerful she could prove to be. If she can do something as major as prevent her heart from being taken, when she doesn’t even realise that she’s doing anything, then what could she be capable of if that amount of power actually becomes conscious and focused.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. I’m wondering if she’ll even be able to control her powers. And I think there’ll be a limit to what Rumple and Regina can teach her.

I was rewatching season 2 again, and in ASOTM Emma states that the power of the failsafe “feels like the oxygen is being sucked out of the air”. Regina says “Not the oxygen. The magic.” Maybe it’s been said before, but it has just struck me that the statement Emma made is very telling. Not only does she CONSCIOUSLY feel that magic is being sucked from the air, but also that it’s like being suffocated. The opposite of suffocation is, obviously, breathing. So, my question is, can we infer from that statement that Emma is UNCONCIOUSLY using magic all the time? Breathing is unconscious after all.
This is so vital to many of my theories, and I’ve talked about this before. SOULS!
The soul has so many names throughout history, one being THE BREATH OF LIFE (I could list a dozen others, but this is the one i want to focus on). When Emma talks about the oxygen being sucked out of the air, it’s because magic comes from the SOUL. Emma’s soul is a bit special/purer (maybe) than most being the product of true love, which is what makes her so powerful.
The SOUL is magic.
Love the way you described that, pan14!
All her life, Emma’s felt like her soul had been crushed and worthless, but now she’s coming to discover how powerful it actually is.
You added to it well, Phee!
So I think from the sneak peek for “Lost Girl” we can pretty much definitively say that Pan wants something from Emma.
Also my suspicion that he brought Henry to NL to get Emma to come has now been revived somewhat.
