Okay, so when I write fanfics, when I use the term “realm”, typically it’s in reference to someone’s kingdom inside the Enchanted Forest. And I think that’s how it was used on the show too. Like when Abigail sort of kidnapped Charming in What Happened to Frederick, she referred to her father’s kingdom as his realm. I expect if we ever go to Camelot, Camelot would be referenced as King Arthur’s realm.

I mean Snowing could have just left for awhile until it was over. Personally I like the idea of it being the entire realm a lot better since it makes Rumps creating of the dark curse and regina’s usage of it mean a lot more ( I mean I always had the impression they were scarificing their entire world! Thats some major dedication) but I guess I was wrong :/ this is why we need an OUAT Encyclopedia -_____- And for those who’ll say “Well Snowimg couldn’t escape the curse fast enough to get out of the EF”. Bullshark! We’ve seen dozens of instances of people teleporting and teleporting other people. So yeah v.v there were ways.

Anyway, I’ve started changing things on my spreadsheet and it’ll eventually get changed on the site timeline since I’m feeling more and more convinced that the Enchanted Forest is mainly Leo/Regina/Snow’s kingdom.

Yes, this is what I am going with.
World=FTL
Snow White’s Kingdom=EF. It many also refer to the stretch of trees that cover Snow’s kingdom, and might spread over into a couple of other kingdoms (who knows), but definitely SW Kingdom
Continent/landmass name with EF, Aurora’s kingdom and all the others (except Arendelle)=unknown name.
Arendelle=if you look at the map that Elsa looks at in 4a, it looks like a peninsula accessible only by sea do the mountains in the north. However, we do not know enough to say if it is a continent or peninsula. What we do know, however, is that is very separate from EF/Mist Haven., and is therefore a separate kingdom from EF at the very least. (Also it would seem that EF/Snow’s kingdom has a coast line, as this was the landing point known to the Arendelle folk).
Definition of Realm within show=kingdom. It could possibly mean several countries or kingdoms under one monarch, like UK, or the UK and its commonwealth, but we have had no evidence of one monarch ruling several lands, so it must be realm=kingdom.
So…just a suggestion…up to you…
Perhaps it would be easier to label the locations as:
-EF, FTL
Arendelle, FTL,
Aurora’s Kingdom, FTL
And not worry about what is a continent, and what is isn’t, and how much of the land mass the actual forest that Snow’s kingdom is likely in the middle of actually covers.

I do think realm has been used to describe a world frequently, it’s not a 1:1 correspondence with kingdom. That’s why I picked up on that word in the first place. But it’s not a big deal–I’m just trying to figure out whether the EF is the whole world, part of it, or Snow’s kingdom right now. The usage within the show until Arendelle really supported the idea of it’s being the whole world.

Before Arendelle, I have always taken Realm to mean kingdom.
Speaking for myself, I am putting some focus on the definition of realm due to the title of the post, and the content of the original post.

Hook: (shrugs) I’m the hell of a captain. (Emma chuckles) Once I was outside the curses purview I knew that the walls were down. Transport between the realms was possible again. All I needed was a magic bean.
Ep 119:
Blue Fairy: In this world, yes. You see, what ails your father is specific to our realm. His powers do not belong here. You must go where you can escape that wretched curse.
Rumplestiltskin: Oh, I’ll find a way. There must be other paths. A realm jumper?
Ep 208:
Cora: Is that so? What if I told you that when a Wraith consumes a soul, it merely travels to another realm. And that soul could be brought back to this world. Show me a little courtesy and I may explain how. (Aurora kicks the tray at her feet.)
Hook: Give Emma a message. Tell her that the deal still stands; if she provides me passage back to her realm, I swear, I will help her find that dust that opens the portal.
I’m not making this up. However, in 208 Mulan also uses “realm” to refer to a local kingdom–I’m not saying it’s never used that way either. I get the confusion. I think the term is still accurate to what I’m trying to decide here.
