My favourite moments were the FTL flashbacks. I wonder where Belle dropping the cup and chipping it fits in with the events of this episode.
I enjoyed how some of the Storybrooke dialogue echoed the FTL dialogue. Belle is still in Lacey and I think Rumple picked up on that so all hope is not lost.
I don’t blame Rumple for beating up Keith. Keith’s first interaction with Rumple in FTL was wanting to spend a night with Belle in exchange for info on Robin Hood. I think Rumple was actually disgusted with Keith’s terms. Now in Storybrooke, Belle is not herself and Keith is still sniffing around her. Rumple is only protecting the woman he loves.

Seriously, I loved the episode and, even though I know we are going to have to wait awhile to get our real Rumbelle (minus Lacey), I wasn’t expecting how dark Lacey was, especially after all the interviews Emilie did. She may have played her as free spirited and just wanting to have a good time, but the way it was edited showed her as a dark character. I fear for Rumple, and gratefully accept the cookies offered last night by RG.
Favorite parts were in FTL – the library scene, the hug, Rumple sparing Robin and Marian. I totally agree, RG- Tamara is Marian and Robin’s daughter. Good call!
Loved Neal and Emma scene, Charming helping Rumple in the bar and the early hospital scene where Belle was so cute and trusting.
REALLY loved Rumple’s awkwardness on the date – flipping the menu, spilling the iced tea. His look when she filled her glass to the top.
Least favorite- Regina! I love to hate her but she is really hateful in this episode.April 22, 2013 at 4:16 pm #187774RumplesGirlKeymasterJust rewatched the clip of Belle and Rumple in the woods when he lets Robin Hood go. After she hugs him (feelings) he grabs his bow and starts to follow Belle back to the carriage and he’s got this smile on his face, like he can’t believe someone so beautiful and pure and kind and sweet actually believes in him and touched him. *sigh* This episode and I are currently having a love/hate relationship.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"April 22, 2013 at 4:39 pm #187782PriceofMagicParticipantI enjoyed the interaction between Rumple and the bartender especially the bartender calling Rumple “sir”.

Keeper of FelixApril 22, 2013 at 9:09 pm #187848PriceofMagicParticipantJust noticed, the curtains are open in Rumple’s castle yet Belle is still in her gold dress and hasn’t pulled them down yet. It’s also not winter. How long was Belle wearing her gold dress before Rumple gave her her blue one?

Keeper of FelixApril 22, 2013 at 9:14 pm #187850wewerecursedParticipantGeez, I feel like the only one who loved this episode! I love Lacey!!! True, I love Belle more, but come on, the curse will be broken eventually and then I think we’ll have this new Belle who’s good, but still just sliiiightly more fiery than before. 🙂
Favorites:
CHARMING BEING THE WINGMAN! I could barely contain my glee during that entire scene. He acts like he doesn’t want to help Gold, but once he starts he’s all into it. “What are you DOING?” 😆
FTL Rumple being such a beast. and yet he’s so cute doing it!
Regina learning that Gold’s son is Henry’s father. Her face was absolutely priceless. So much of the time on this show we don’t actually get to see the characters learn some of these revelations. (Most irritating for me were Charming learning of Emma’s magic, Emma and MM meeting Belle, and Emma learning about Ruby’s “monthly.”) Most of the time they just already “know.” So I was happy that we got to see Regina find this out and it was perfect.
On that note, Emma learning about the beans and meeting Anton again. Their little reunion was so cute! In a show where not so much madness is happening on a constant basis, I think Emma and Anton would be really good friends.
Gold seeing Lacey for the first time. I thought it was kind of a weird scene, and have made jokes about suddenly being an episode of One Tree Hill, but I don’t know. I loved it. And the music was cool.
The bartender. Again, don’t know, just really liked him for some reason. They should bring him back.
Rumple not selling Belle to the sheriff. 😀
The scene when Rumple “misses” hitting Robin Hood. And the hug! Daaw!
THE. LIBRARY.
David’s little wink when he told Leroy they were “going home.” 😆 Oh no, they weren’t going home. They either went to the inn or found a dark place to park the truck if you know what I mean! 😆
I’m sorry, I know I’m in the minority about this one, but I loved when Rumple brandished his cane of pain on Keith and how turned on by it Lacey was! I posted something on Tumblr about them being the new Joker and Harley Quinn!
Least Favorite:
Tamara. Tamara and Greg, but mostly Tamara. They took a perfectly good episode and wasted precious minutes on these two morons. If I have to see them flirt or kiss one more time I may puke! And then they were like, BUM BUM BUM what is in our trailer?! And…it’s Hook? Okay, I do still love Hook, but what on earth can he do? Except maybe be reunited again with his True Love. The floor. The date scene made me sad for Gold. I actually felt embarrassed for him. 😆

Favorite moment Hook finally returning and the writers attempting to be subtle with the fact that Emma needs Hook. Hook’s reveal is immediately after Neal tells Emma that she always finds what she needs. Yeah real subtle writers.
I didn’t make that connection at all, but I wasn’t watching it as a CaptainSwan shipper. That scene was ALL about the SwanFire feels for me.
Nealfire: “Don’t worry about it, you’ll figure it out. One thing I know about you, you don’t stop til you find what you’re looking for.”
Emma: *awkward half smile*What I read into that smile was her thinking, “If only you knew that I searched for you in Tallahassee for two years, and eventually felt like there was no hope left, but still, here you are sitting in front of me right now, because we were inevitably drawn back together.”
Guess it goes to show that the end of the ep was well written if it can appeal to both rival shipper camps. 😉
You didn’t have to see it as a “CS shipper” and I don’t watch the show as one, despite being one. I don’t look for every knick and cranny to try to say oh hey that’s for my couple.
It was just a very clear deliberate set up. That Neal/Emma scene could have gone at any moment in the episode yet it was deliberately placed at the very end of the episode, which in and of itself was a lead in to the long awaited return of Hook. Which basically showed what Neal was saying.
It was like in the episode when Regina basically told Rumple that if Bae can’t save him than there is nothing that can save his humanity, we then flash to a scene of Belle. This is ALL intentional editing.
I’m kind of thrown back by the fact that you judged me just because I may ship a couple. I also have taken loads of film editing classes and have been properly trained in this field so that’s more than just my so called “shipping preferences”.
It was a preamble towards Hooks reveal, it has nothing to do with seeing it as a “Captain Swan” shipper, I just know how this show likes to do it’s edits and it’s as subtle as a sledgehammer.
So no it’s not because I’m a CS shipper, and its quite upsetting that you would just dismiss my view as that.

I disagree that that scene could have gone anywhere in the ep.
It had to come after Emma had seen the beans, because before that, she wasn’t aware that both of her parents now wanted to leave, and were actively working towards that goal.
It had to happen after the scene with Regina, because that scene showed Emma reading her story and seriously considering whether or not she wanted to go back and take Henry with her, potentially separating him from Regina for good.
Only after that could we have the scene where Emma asks Neal what he thinks about going back. It simply wouldn’t have made sense for her to ask him that without the previous scenes to set it up and show us what’s going on in her head.
The episode was constructed to show that Henry had been off spending the whole day bonding with his dad, which was necessary, because the fact that father and son are now getting to know each other is another factor that Emma is having to consider right now.
So they had that one scene together at the end, after all that other stuff had happened to lead into it, where she brought up with him the things she’d been thinking about all day. When Neal was obviously not interested at all in going back, the topic of conversation changed to August, (and being that I don’t like what happened to August, I liked that they acknowledged that it’s sorta messed up that he’s a kid now), which naturally progressed to Emma wondering what August had been saying, which naturally progressed to Neal’s line about Emma always finding what she’s looking for, showing that he has confidence in her at a time when she really needed to hear that from someone, because she’s totally confused.
I’d been expecting Hook to be in the final scene ever since Tamara mentioned going to collect a package that was just outside town. They set that up earlier with the intention of going back to it for the big, dramatic ending with Hook’s return.
It was like in the episode when Regina basically told Rumple that if Bae can’t save him than there is nothing that can save his humanity, we then flash to a scene of Belle. This is ALL intentional editing.
I’m not convinced that Belle will be the one who can save his humanity. I think that may well end up being Henry’s doing. It cut to Belle because it was a Rumbelle ep, and everyone expected her to be the one to save him, so of course that was the natural progression of the episode at that point. But that was before we met Lacey and things got complicated.
I’m kind of thrown back by the fact that you judged me just because I may ship a couple. I also have taken loads of film editing classes and have been properly trained in this field so that’s more than just my so called “shipping preferences”.
I’m kind of thrown back that you think I was “judging” you. We all perceive situations in the show differently, coloured by our own personal viewpoints, (and I said as much in my previous post when I said it was good writing because it gave both shipper camps something to read into and latch onto).
For the record, I am actually expecting them to hook up CaptainSwan, and I’m interested to see what they do with the pairing, because I think they’re kinda hot together and have great chemistry. I think SwanFire is endgame, but that doesn’t mean I’m anti CaptainSwan in the mean time, and I certainly don’t “judge” anyone based on who they do or don’t ship.
April 23, 2013 at 12:23 pm #188028wackyoncerParticipantDo any of you read episode reviews online? There is one reviewer at tv.com who is absolutely HILARIOUS. I’m attaching her review of “Lacey” here….

If you are sensitive about your favourite character’s flaws being pointed out you might not enjoy it. However, the writer is still a fan so I think a lot of you will find it funny. It’s worth going back and checking out her reviews of other episodes as well.
April 23, 2013 at 12:26 pm #188029spinninggoldParticipantHmmm, yes I think, hope, pray that Hook turns to save the day. Yeah Emma hit, bound, gagged him and left him behind, but even he must see that a deal with Tamara is not in his best interest, or anyone elses. Plus since half the female fans have some sort of crush on Hook, he must get a chance to redeem himself a little.
