Sydney. Gotta be. This one is pretty obvious.

Sydney GLASS, played by Giancarolo Espiseto from BREAKING bad.

Yeah, it was a mirror that reflected things as only being evil, then the mirror broke and became tiny shards which got into the hearts and eyes of people all over and made them only see and do bad. Then the little boy in the story got a shard in his eye and turned against his best friend and ended up in the custody of the Snow Queen.

(When he disappeared, everyone figured he’d died in the river. One of the few faint hopes I have for this season is that they make Will relevant by tying his (supposedly?) drowned-in-the-frozen-lake sister into the Snow Queen story.)

Eventually his best friend finds him and her tears melt away the evil mirror shard in his eye and yay happy ending.

There’s another mirror reference too, the Snow Queen calls her frozen lake the Mirror of Reason. When they brought Sidney back, I figured there was gonna be some parallel whatever between Regina and her bad Mirror and the Snow Queen and the mirrors in that story.

    My thoughts exactly.

My thoughts too.  I’ll go a little farther and say this is the episode where Sydney says to Regina,  “I’m done with you.” And he realizes that Regina doesn’t really love him and refuses to help her.  I really want Sydney to have some kind of epiphany that Regina doesn’t love him.

I’d like to see this too. Perhaps Sidney is the broken mirror. He’s the broken-HEARTED mirror (see what I did there). Now that he is free, not a mirror, and possibly has his magic back or atleast knowledge of magic like Cyrus did, I wonder exactly what actions he will take against Regina. Will he rage against her as some love scorned genie? Will he bend to her will because he loves her too much still after knowing she played him like a violin? Will he help whoever turns out to be the bad guy? In the end, I’m sure Sydney leads us to Jafar. One hope is this…. I hope it doesn’t lead to some Regina/Robin/Sydney triangle.

Surprised nobody has commented on there being yet another new writer. Scott Nimerfro’s resume is pretty vast. He’s a writer and producer known for Pushing Daisies, Tales from the Crypt, X-Men (an associate producer for the first film), Ringer, and Hannibal. He’s also written a few episodes of TRON: Uprising, which might be how Adam and Eddy know him. There is the chance he might just be a guest writer, and not a full time Once staff writer, which wouldn’t be the first time. Vladimir Cvetk, for one, only co-wrote “Hat Trick.”

You can view the rest of his IMDB page here.

    BREAKING GLASS MEANING:

Broken glass can represents a few thing

The symbolism of broken glass means broken promises or shattered expectations.
Your feelings may be hurt or a situation may be turning into a crisis.

I’m one hundred percent sure that Belle finds out the truth about Zelena in this one! Although Sidney maybe playing a key part, I think this is when all the crap hits the fan! Everyone loses trust with everyone!
