This Belle theory has me jumping up and down from excitement! But from all the points I have seen both here and on Tumblr, I’m torn equally between the “Her” and Belle theories. I just have one thing to say:
Why would Belle change her name to Lacey? Wouldn’t that just make everything confusing? Everybody calls her Belle already! Even if she doesn’t remember, she would still probably at least keep her name the same! :geek:[adrotate group="5"]@Sammy wrote:

She doesn’t know who “Belle” is, but she doesn’t seem to have any identity at all. She doesn’t know who she is, so while Belle doesn’t mean anything to her, I’m not sure that any name would mean anything to her.

Don’t worry, I know, it’s getting hard to keep track. 😆 I was trying to think through my little theory and the ep numbers didn’t add up, so I had to go check them.
Phee: I like your reasoning behind the gap in between Miller’s Daughter and Lacey to explain how it could be Belle. So does Cora wound Rumple with the dagger (and is that enough to take his power?) or is he injured in another way?
I’m going with injured with the dagger, but it’s not enough to kill him, just enough to land him in hospital in a critical condition.

Everyone else got a SB name, so it stands to reason that Belle did too, and for 28 years, she thought her name was Lacey, (if this theory about the ep being about her ends up being true). Without her memories of being Belle, she’s back to thinking she’s Lacey again.

Oh, that kind of makes sense. I guess we won’t know unless Belle says that when she was staying in the asylum she thought her name was “Lacey”. But that does make sense! 😀
Wow! I would love it if it were about Belle, but I would also probably hate it cause then we’d have to wait so long for her to get her memories back! But yeah.. 🙂
Am I the only one that doesn’t want people to go to storybrooke and all that weirdness? I think it would get too messy. 😛 😕

Lacey huh? It’s both a girl’s name as well as a boy’s name. As such, I’ll add a wacky theory to the mix that Lacey is Mr. Gold’s first name. We still have no idea what it was in cursed SB. Here is the meaning of Lacey:

Otherwise, it’d be really interesting if Lacey were HER, the BF, or Belle!

I really like the idea that Lacey is Belle’s Storybrooke name! I don’t think Belle was a complete blank slate in the asylum. She probably had an identity and false memories just like everyone else- at least that is what I’m hoping. It makes her storyline much more interesting than having her with no memories at all- we already did the amnesia storyline with David last year. We haven’t seen enough of Storybrooke Belle to know what she believes about herself. Does she have memories of being locked up in the hospital? Does she have memories of being a child? Does she believe herself to be crazy and a danger to herself?
I actually asked Jane Espenson on Twitter if Belle had an identity or was a blank slate, and she replied that was exactly what I should be asking and to keep watching.
I think to that Lacey will be Belle. It is a old french name and has a something to do with clothes (lace). No one has higher Heels and I am a fan of her clothes,

ETA: and to have a name for a title makes it sound like this episode will revolve around this person (assuming it is a name and not something else entirely)…which makes me think this may be someone completely new (perhaps just my thinking)…maybe those saying this is Greg’s Her are correct and we’ll be introduced to her in this episode like we were introduced to Dreamy(Grumpy) in Dreamy (that is the only other name title isn’t it?…can’t remember).
