That is a very interesting theory. Aren’t we supposed to find out Mr Gold’s Storybrooke name this season?
I don’t think Belle did have any Storybrooke memories as such because she told Rumple in Broken that Regina kept her locked up until the curse and that she’s “been in the asylum ever since”. If Belle had fake memories, she would have had false childhood memories of not being in the asylum.

Well, not that we know of. Belle’s storybrooke person never really talked. Who says she didn’t have past memories when she was in the asylum? They really could go either way. 😉

I’m going with injured with the dagger, but it’s not enough to kill him, just enough to land him in hospital in a critical condition.

Everyone else got a SB name, so it stands to reason that Belle did too, and for 28 years, she thought her name was Lacey, (if this theory about the ep being about her ends up being true). Without her memories of being Belle, she’s back to thinking she’s Lacey again.
I like the ideas that Lacey could be either Belle’s Storybrooke name or Mr. Gold’s name. Also I like the idea that Gold is in the hospital and in this episode Belle remembers who she was in Storybrooke and she remembers who she really is.
Well we only need the titles to episodes 20, 21 and 22 …. I bet we get them on the hiatus for the Oscars ….. FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS… I think we will be in for BUMPY RIDE…

.HOW many episodes is GREG MENDAL suppose to be in…. I thought he was going to be in a couple and then not be on the show. Has he been signed as a regular?? or is he a reoccurring character like Red was last season?

I saw the same website for Lacey. At the top, It says there is an Irish origin of the name as well and thrnIrish version is male(as is mentioned). Isn’t Mr. Gold supposed to be “Irish” ? (His fake memories). I thought I remember hearing it on the show or something being implied.

The casting call for “Barrett”, (which appears to have actually been for Greg) was for a “major recurring guest star role with an option for next season”.

Lacey Gold doesn’t work for me. I think Gold is going to be involved heavily in the next few episodes…I just don’t see them devoting a whole episode to him that quickly after Manhattan especially if it winds up being his backstory.
I never watched it but now all I can think when I see this title is Cagney and Lacey. Like getting a song stuck in my head.
I don’t think Mr. Gold has a first name. I think it’s one of those plays on the original Rumple fairy tale where his name was his closest secret. I think when the creators sat down and created him, they decided to have his SB name be a kind of tongue in cheek reference to the fairy tale.
