HAHAHAHA. They live in a magical land where biological time doesn’t pass and shadows are riiiiiiiiiiiped off them, but fairies is one step too much.
LOL Well, it’s probably easier to have faith in the stuff that sucks rather than the stuff that brings hope if you’re stuck in a mournful land like NL?
[adrotate group="5"]July 5, 2013 at 11:42 am #199561JosephineParticipantIn the Disney version, kids needed to clap or say “I believe in fairies” or something like that to save Tinkerbell after she drank poison. What if she needs the heart of the truest believer to be saved?
It’s not in the Disney animated version that they say this, but they do in every other version of Peter Pan. Why do you think my first post in this thread my mind immediately went through “I do believe in fairies! I do believe in fairies!”
Maybe it also has to do with part of the belief in flying is “faith, trust, and pixie dust” in the Disney animated movie. In the novel it’s “think lovely wonderful thoughts”. Maybe they’re trying to learn to fly and they’re having trouble believing. And then Snow clocks David as they’re learning. Wouldn’t it be hilarious to see Mr. Gold float around with his cane and being told to “think of a wonderful thought”! I would be in stitches on the floor if we saw that!

Hook has to be the one saying it to him. With excess snark. 😉
July 5, 2013 at 11:58 am #199563HappyEndingsSpectatorI hope Rumble goes back to his old self with out the cane vs. the Rumble in SB. Love to see Henry, and Emma’s reaction to the real Rumble. : )
By they way I still don’t know how Rumble knew how to take hearts, someone had to show him.
Wasn’t there an article some where with Lana(Regina) stating they had to wear harnesses perhaps the pixie dust does come in and they do fly and I think they will also use it on Hook’s Ship to get out of NL.
July 5, 2013 at 12:08 pm #199567RumplesGirlKeymasterI would like to know who taught Rumple his magic. I suppose he could have learned on his own but I feel like he needed a helper for stuff like taking hearts.
I don’t remember any such interview. And they haven’t started filming yet, so there hasn’t been any harnesses unless it was for season 2.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"July 5, 2013 at 12:22 pm #199568PheeParticipantThe only time I recall Lana having mentioned being hoisted up in a harness was when she was talking about shooting Stable Boy. The scene were Cora restrained Regina using magic. And that was back in S1.
July 5, 2013 at 3:50 pm #199584kfchimeraParticipantI remember there was an article but it sounded more like Lana guessing, than speaking from experience. Her words were something like “we’ll be in harnesses until it kills our bodies”, and I think it was Entertainment Weekly or TvGuide asking the question about flight in NL.
I’d like to see Rumpel learning magic too but I kind of thought that as the Dark One, he just had raw power and figured a lot out for himself, maybe by taking things /making deals –but finding out how he expanded his powers would be a great story too.
I agree on Hook being snarky to Rumpel–in fact, I’m really interested to see these two interact in the situation forcing them to work together. While I figure they’d avoid Milah as a topic, I do imagine a comment or two about Cora, just before Regina comes up and they quickly but awkwardly, change the subject.

July 5, 2013 at 4:07 pm #199585JosephineParticipantI always thought Rumple just picked it up as he went along, too. The Dark One curse gave him a certain amount of powers and he’s probably gained the knowledge by independent study for everything else. He’s lived three hundred years and I can’t imagine him ever being in the submissive position of student and learning from someone who would in essence be of a higher authority.
Rumple rules unto himself and nobody else. Rarely has he gone to someone else for advice or help. The only time in the Enchanted Forest that I know of was when he demanded of the Blue Fairy a way to get to Bae. As Mr. Gold, rarely has he asked for help and then it was usually about Belle and involved David. (Hence, why I love their bromance so much). My point is I can’t imagine him actually admitting to needing to learn something as the Dark One so I don’t think he’d have a mentor in magic.
Oh, if Gold turns into Rumple I think that would be even better for Hook teasing him to “think of a wonderful thought.” Can you imagine the “Sparkly One” floating and doing somersaults in the air! Any way we get Robert Carlyle would be a fantastic scene.

Yea, that was it.
As of Rumble not asking for help he did turn to Cora when he tried to find a memory spell so I do think someone had to show him some stuff especially taking hearts who would of thought of ever doing this kind of thing even the popping in and out at different places either he found a book or something to help train him because I don’t think he learned all of his stuff just by himself.
July 5, 2013 at 5:11 pm #199594RumplesGirlKeymasterSome magic just came to Rumple when he became the Dark One, like the ability to turn others into snails. But the BF did say that his powers weren’t strong enough to cast the Curse and he swore to spend the rest of his life learning. So, either book or he got help. With Cora, he asked because he assumed she had been learning outside of Rumple–again, either by book or with a person. We know he takes power, like the Seer’s ability (even though that was her suggestion) so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he stole power from others. If there is a story to be told about this, it might come up towards the end of the first half of S3 when we learn how PP and Rumple know each other. It might be that Rumple tried to steal a certain power from PP and got his butt kicked. How scary would that be? PP vs. Rumple and Rumple didn’t win!?
