Sometimes the writers use songs to inspire the actors with a mood and theme.
This wouldn’t inspire me at all instead would be the opposite for me 🙁

"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

August 18, 2013 at 10:41 pm #205575PheeParticipantWell done guessing the song, ladies! “Maybe” totally means “yes” with that guy.
Reading the lyrics, it sorta makes me envision PP running NL, overseeing all the Lost Boys. “There’s a score of hair-brained children, They’re all locked in the nursery.” And, “Doncha think we need a woman’s touch to make it come alive?” makes me think of Wendy.
Also, the title makes me think of that saying, “old habits die hard,” which could be applied to both PP and to Rumple.
August 18, 2013 at 11:03 pm #205578RumplesGirlKeymasterThey chorus is also semi-romantic.
“Come now, honey,
we can build a place for three
Come on now honey,
doncha wanna live with me?”So it could be that Rumple is reflecting on what life could be life if he made it back to SB with Belle and his son, Bae.
also, consider the title “Let Me Live” If Rumple thinks he is going off to his death….
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"August 18, 2013 at 11:05 pm #205579runaroundmacyParticipantThey’re very interesting lyrics! I’m more of a Beatles fan than a Stones fan so I dont know this song but I definitely get: I’ve got some nasty habits, I dont always do the right thing. But accept me for who I am and we can have a beautiful life. Everyone has nasty habits, and so we shouldn’t feel bad for being who we are. I’m not a bad guy but I’ve done bad things, but who hasn’t?
That’s sort of the gist I get from the song. Hmm, seems quite Rumpley to me, but maybe I’m biased. And I’m pretty sure it could apply to PP in certain cases.
Keeper of the Cheshire Cat’s smile, Baelfire’s sword, Snow’s backpack, Robin Hood’s bow, Ariel’s purse, Ariel’s smile, Henry’s heart, Belle’s shoe collection
August 18, 2013 at 11:07 pm #205585RumplesGirlKeymasterI think that’s a dead on interpretation! It’s very Rumple-y. He wants that good life, the life the Charmings have. He has always been jealous of PC because Rumple longs to be the romantic hero. And he may have an opportunity with Belle and his son, but he also knows that he’s done some pretty terrible things. also, consider the title “Let Me Live” If Rumple thinks he is going off to his death….
Love this song. Might have been listening to it since Adam confirmed for me.

Here’s something new, from Mark Goldman’s twitter, one of the editors:
There's an ep 304 spoiler in the 7/13/13 NYTimes crossword. 7-across.

The word in the crossword puzzle is SQUIDINK.

Hmmm, well if the mystery of how Rumple got the squidink is revealed in 304, Ariel wasn’t involved in him getting it because she’s not showing up until 306.
August 19, 2013 at 8:43 am #205635RumplesGirlKeymasterInteresting! Ariel isn’t involved but that doesn’t mean mermaids aren’t. Maybe Rumple traded the squid ink with another mermaid.
So the flashback is probably Rumple’s trip to NL as the Dark One and I bet he encounters Felix which is how Felix knew Rumple was the Dark One. Parker Croft was on set as of Saturday.
